Default Another noob ? on 8830 - 05-27-2008, 02:45 PM

How do I load music on my 8830? I loaded 4 pics but when ever I try to load music from the desktop manager, it says not enough space on disk.

I tried to Search, does this pertain to what I'm doing?

VVVVVV

Additional WAV, MP3, and MIDI file support
From BlackBerryFAQ
To get your WAV, MP3 or MIDI attachments played by your BB you’ll need MasterDoc by Dynoplex. It supports full circle of operations with media files: playing them, saving to BB internal memory or SD, sending as attachments.

Please note: to get this functionality your device OS should be 4.2 (to check it go to: Options-> About).

The application is available at: MasterDoc™, DynoPlex Inc.

BES USERS

If your device is on a BES then you DON'T need the software mentioned above but you do need.

1) your BES admin to setup the distiller correctly on the BES (Logon, go to control panel, Blackberry Server Configuration, and set attachment options)

2) an IT policy that permits the playback of audio files

Retrieved from "http://www.blackberryfaq.com/index.php/Additional_WAV%2C_MP3%2C_and_MIDI_file_support"

Thanks in advance.

Gameovr, welcome to the BBForums!

What you copied above does not pertain to your situation, this does:

Good luck.

Thanks for the welcome!

So, I need a microSD card before I can add music to my BB?

Thanks again.

Yes, you don't want to fill up your device memory with a bunch of music, you will begin to lose your SMS, call logs and emails, and then you will posting back here asking why, in a panic, not to mention the end of the world and all that jazz.

One song is one thing, much more and you will have issues: This is why you don't want to:

So, that is why the slot for the Media Card is in the device.

OK, so I got the micro SD card and installed. I've tried downloading music to my BB and only 3 of the 12 that I loaded actually play. The other 9 show up in the library but when you go to play them them skip through the song in 10 seconds.

ANY HELP?

TIA!

I've noticed that the songs that will play on the BB do not have a little lock symbol beside them when I drag and drop them in my DM. The ones that skip through the song do have the lock symbol. Is there any way to unlock the ones that do?
