Default Removing media card password - 06-03-2008, 05:16 PM

Hello i was wondering how to get rid of the password on your SD card its very annoying all other passwords are turned off besides the SD card. for instance when i plug it in i am prompt on my phone to put in password. also when i unplug it from the computer prompt pops up. i was wondering how to get rid of this password thing

This "password thing" is the master device password that you have protecting your BlackBerry. If you choose to enable mass storage, you are prompted again for your unlock password. It also prompts you for your password on the desktop in order to connect to your BlackBerry.

To remove the prompt, remove the password in options-> security->general->password(disabled)

for some reason it is disabled but still prompts me for pw for media card and nothing else

Ahh... then it's possible that media card encryption is enabled.

Options->Media Card->Encryption Mode (set to none)

** This password can be either your device password, a separate security password, or both your device password and a security password for the really paranoid.

its set to none .. maybe its buggy or something =P
