Do you have it plugged in via USB, direct to our PC USB port... NOT to a USB hub or monitor USB port?

What version of Desktop Manager do you have loaded?

Try Help > About. You will know then.

How are you going to update your Desktop Manager if you don't know what you have. What will you update it to?

A suggestion, you might be better without the media manager and just drag and drop music to your BB.

Go to device manager and see if it was found there. If so delete it, then re-install the DM, after that connect your BB and see if your PC picks it up...

I guess you're on your own, johnny.

If you don't know what you have, how will you know what is "right"?

To manage files on my sd card, I just remove it from the Blackberry and put it in a card reader. Seems a lot faster that way anyway.

I wonder if his OS is assigning a drive letter that is already assigned to another drive. I've seen this happen a lot with WinXP if you have a media card drives or network drives. You go to plug in a thumb drive (or BB with media card) and it gets assigned a drive letter that is already assigned to a network drive. Just a thought.

I do the same. It helps me skip the headaches. Card readers are out there for cheap on Amazon.
