problem = when i attempt to download the espnmobileweb.jad (version 1.2) using my phone's blackberry browser, i see the file is 0 in size. I install it anyway.

After it installs, I click the "RUN" option. Then I get an error stating ""uncaught exception: no application instance". The only option I have is to click "OK". Additionally, the ESPN icon is installed on my phone's desktop.

Does anyone have the time to see if you can install the app yourself? I know all this app does is install an icon to their mobile web site but I like the shortcut.

Note: I can install other non-ESPN apps on the phone with no problems (e.g. google maps 2.2). I also contacted ESPN but their support staff isn't very helpful yet.

Went to espn.com and downloaded ota no problem. Tmo 4.3 8120.

Calling it an app is a bit of stretch. It is just a link to the espn web page that shows up on your desktop, which is why the size is 0. That being said, do you get the same error when you click on the espn icon on your desktop? Have you tried a battery pull? You could also try uninstalling it and reinstalling it.

I was finally able to get it to work.

I did a hard reboot and then reinstalled again. I still saw the same error after clicking "run" but it works fine now from the desktop. Thanks for the replies.

I'm just as confused...I don't get the craze of the "shortcut to internet apps" I just save bookmarks...
Plus if I want to use Opera....
