Default VBR and bitrate - 08-18-2008, 12:42 AM

I searched on google and here as generally as I can for vbr and only came up with like 10-20 posts and didn't totally answer the question

I pretty much read that for the curve (any I assume, I have the 8320) vbr DOES work? But in fact, is it better and will it make songs a bit crisper.

Now I was once told that with songs, maybe downloaded, or because they are on a mp3 type player that anything over 128, or maybe even 160, would be a waste. Is that correct? which one do you recommend 160?

Lastly, I just realized I don't have to use the dreaded media manager that I can use real player that I don't like but is quicker. ANYONE HAD ANY PROBLEMS USING IT?

thanks for reading and any contributions

I prefer VBR over a static bitrate. Also, i believe VBR is scene standard.
