Default Media Manager Problem - 08-18-2008, 08:53 AM

I'm trying to upload songs to my 8310 Curve. After plugging in my device to my computer and opening the Media Manager, I get to the screen where it shows your computer on the top and the device on the bottom. Problem is the bottom portion of the screen shows "No device is connected" although the screen on my BB shows "Connected to computer". Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Welcome to the BBForums.

My suggestion? Scrap Media Manager.

Follow this FAQ for Settings and Option One.

I couldn't agree more with JSanders. USB your BlackBerry>My Computer>Removable Disk>BlackBerry (folder)>Music! Drag and drop!

When your BB is usb'd t your computer, just treat it as an external hard drive or flash drive. Just go to the correct folder, be that Music, Pictures, Ringtones, Videos, Voicenotes or Documents then drag and drop what you want into the appropriate folder and call it done!

With my BB connected via USB, I go to My computer>etc., but when I click on Removable disk, it tells me to Please insert a disk into Drive E. I don't see a folder for BB

Do you have Desktop Manager loaded to the PC?

If so, remove the BB from the USB. Check the settings for Mass Storage Mode on the BB from the link I gave you.

Pull the battery on the BB (while powered on) replace and reboot the BB.

Reboot the PC.

Plug in the BB to the USB, give it a couple minutes.

Then try My Computer, looking at drive e, f, or g, normally, for a "removable drive".

I too am having problems with the Media Manager. I want to be able to choose between playlists on the BB. I can create the playlists in the upper left panels of Media Manager. When I drag the playlists down to the Music folder under My Devices in the lower left panel, the songs appear in the lower right panel, not the playlists. And when I look at the Blackberry there are no playlists, just the songs. How do I get the playlists to go into the blackberry so I can choose between them instead of the entire list of songs in all the playlists.

I tried going around Media Manager by using Windows Explorer. I copied the folders (playlists) to the Mass Storage card on the BB under the Music Folder. Same thing - No playlists. Then when I connect the BB to the PC and look at Media Manager, the songs from the various playlists are sitting on the right side of the screen (and directly under Songs on the BB). I am using Desktop Manager 4.3.0.17 and its associated Media Manager.

Any help would be very, very much appreciated!

BB 8700 does not have a media card...
You need an 8310, 8800, 8820 or 9000... or Pearl...
