Default Abstraction Redux - 83XX - 09-30-2008, 08:31 AM

Theme name: Abstraction Redux
Theme author: b1gg13
Supported Device Model(s) and OS: BB 83XX - 4.5, 4.3, 4.2
Download Link(s): PimpMyBerry
Theme Cost: FREE

I redid this theme using the beta theme builder.

The icons on the main screen are User Customizable, the focus icon flashes when scrolled over an icon, a few other small tweaks including a custom hourglass i made. (Thanks to all that help me with that project).

I hope people enjoy it. Tested on all OS versions of 83XX

Pretty damn neat. I'll be sure to give it a try when I swap my 8830 for a Curve next week.

This theme is great. I am noticing one issue though that maybe you can help me with as I may be doing something wrong. The biggest thing is the test display in Messages and SMS and in Options. It is crazy big and doesn't seem to be following the Screen/Keyboard settings. Now if I open an individual message the text display is fine, but in those main screens it is all tweaked out.

Also, what are theminimum needed theme files for this to work? I have noticed I need dimension zen|L|today and it appears the 102icons (*Edit - 102icons is not necessary, so this is good as it reduces installed themes - /Edit*). Is there any way to reduce the dependencies on the other themes needing to be installed?

Thanks,
Ed

I think your font issues might be that you have your default font size really high. mine is set at 9 by default from ATT. I have talked to people with 8320's and theirs was set to 7 by default.

Try changing it to a different size and see if it helps.

I have mine set to 7 normally. I tried switching it to 9 and it doesn't change anything on those particular screens, but it does inside a message or a txt message. But all of Options, Messages, SMS, etc all have a big font. As an example, if I go to Options->Status, not all of the text fits on the right hand side of the screen. The battery level shows 9cutoff instead of 90%. The other numbers are cut off as well. Pretty bizarre.

I will add a screen shot shortly if I can figure it out.

OK please do, I have been running this theme for over a week, testing and stuff and don't have that problem. None of my testers have said anything either so I would love to get to the bottom of it.

No i don't ... but i can move it further away and re-up the files. My 8310 doesn't have that option so I can only go off the theme builder on it.

They are uploaded now ... i moved the meter away from the wifi logo, this should solve that problem.

I apologize you had that issue.

couldn't get a screen shot going. jl_cmder kept failing while trying to take the screenshot. I am not sure if when I was trying to clean up memory (JC's post) I removed some necessary files or what, but I can't get around the font issue and it makes this theme unusable for me. which is a bummer because I really like this one.

What OS version are you running? I am running the latest4.5.0.108 on my 8310. Have you seen anything weird with this version?

That screen shot looks normal if you say you are usin size 9 for font. And you also say that that text right there changes if you change your font size right? Mine doesn't change at all. It looks bigger than what you show there and is unaffected by any changes I make inside Screen/Keyboard settings.

casmer, I do not have an answer for you i truely wish I did. I cannot fix it other than to make that font size smaller for you. and send you the files.

I dont have any problems doing that. Just get back to me and let me know.
