Decent themes. I think $10 is steep.

Very interesting. I would like to see actual screenshots from the theme itself, instead of the animated crap on the website. Anyone have one and can put up a few screenshots?

Oh I know they will. If I built themes I would try a lower price to get more purchases. It is all about volume.

These aren't themes. To the best of my knowledge, they are applications that give your Blackberry a cool homescreen. They can be exited and then it goes to your original BB screen with whatever theme you have running.

That is from what I understand.

I just saw that. From the website:

What is a DreamTheme LiveScreen?
A DreamTheme LiveScreen is effectively an upgrade for your BlackBerry homescreen. In actual fact, it's just a BlackBerry Java application that you use just like your homescreen. You use your LiveScreen as your 'launchpad' for other applications. You can hide and unhide, change the position of, and even add and remove icons from the homescreen. In addition, you can customize the device with ringtones, and a BlackBerry theme that matches the LiveScreen.(Note that in order to launch seldom-used applications, you revert to your normal BlackBerry homescreen).

What is the difference between a BlackBerry Theme and a LiveScreen?
A BlackBerry theme replaces the background of your homescreen, changes some of the icons, and modifies some of the application buttons and colours. A LiveScreen is an entirely new homescreen for your device. To create the best experience, we recommended to use your LiveScreen as your main homescreen, but also install the accompanying BlackBerry theme so that the application screens take on the colour scheme of the LiveScreen.

Wow. That is a little confusing. I thought it was a theme. I am glad that I did not opt to purchase one.

There is a pretty thorough review HERE, minus a good live demo video.

Also, note the following:

That is a memory hog. I couldn't imagine running that thing on my phone.

curiousity got the better of me, so i decided to grab one.

well, its speedier than having a custom theme, but u also loose the ability of all the shortcut keys, and blackberry button. so i found navigating around slow and tedious.
overall made my blackberry stupid and non intuitive.

deleted and removed.

there's one thing the blackberry IM does not receive alerts or notifications.
How bout testing before selling it @ 10.00 a pop.
request refund with handango

BTW, live screen runs fast & smooth and doesn"t effect my battery

Well, I think that I'll try it out. Looks pretty nice overall, and I have the available space for my Pearl.
If it's a bomb, I'll just reimburse myself from my wife's change jar.

Peace,

Ok, having problems with it.
On the first time I clicked on the icon (I got the Sky theme), it says that it'll take about 30 seconds to install. I waited about 5 minutes with no change in the screen. I also did a battery pull twice with no results. I downloaded it through my PC too.
Anyone with any ideas?

Edit:
Got in touch with Handango, and they pointed me in the right direction, and it's working now.
It's a pretty nice little app that makes my Pearl stand out even more, but it's not earth-shattering. Maybe because the choices are still a bit slim.
All in all though, it WAS worth the $10 to me. I'm looking forward to other looks as time goes on. I am especially impressed with the option that I can add my own icons for apps.
On the down side though, it is a bit of a memory hog.

Peace,

Kamau

I just purchased the Deep theme, as I really liked the look and feel of it. I tried the Christmas theme last month, but found it too buggy on my Curve 8330 running OS 4.3, so I requested a refund. However, I recently upgraded to a 4.5 OS, so I wanted to give it another try. I'm finding the following problems:

1) Frequent crashes.
2) Lockup of my device, causing a reset.
3) Major memory drain. I went from 30 MB to under 10 in a matter of minutes!
4) Unable to create new icons pointing to other apps. For example, I wanted an icon for Google Mobile App, so I found the module name (GoogleSearch), and the system lets me choose an icon, but after going back to the main screen, the icon doesn't show up. When I scroll to where it should be, it just shows a blank screen. I can click the trackball, and it opens Google Mobile App, but when I try to exit it, it crashes my phone.

These are all problems I experienced with this last month, so it appears my new OS has no affect on these. Any ideas on what can be done to remedy this? I was hoping there would have been an upgrade by now. The themes are amazing, but way too buggy, especially at $10 per theme?

BTW, Handango refunded my Christmas theme, and expect I'll need to request the same, although I've tried to contact their support. Oh, that's one other thing that bugs me - they devote an icon for Help, but selecting it just pulls up a web page that says...coming soon!! Not good!

Sounds like this thing needs a little more beta testing before release, and $10.00 is still steep.

They look really interesting, but not worth the $$. They definitely need more options and needs to have a free trial for sure.
