I wanted to have a Today screen theme for the BlackBerry Bold. Didn't want to buy it - (cheeep). My last phone was the Treo 750 (Windows Mobile).

So I downloaded the Plazmic thing from BlackBerry.com. It's free, and easy. But then, I am a Windows Mobile software developer, by trade.

I wanted a theme that illustrated the best TV series ever made, Star Trek, Deep Space Nine. DS9 commander Benjamin Sisko was great; but then again, he is the baddest mo-fo in Starfleet.

Anyway, in a half-hour, I made this theme, attached. Enjoy.

Anybody can do this; you can. I can't believe people charge for themes. But hey, it's a free country.

How to use:

1. Copy the files to your BBB.
2. Use the multimedia player; explore the files, and click on the smallest one; (it is 1K), to 'download' it
3. Once it is installed, choose it in your Themes app, in Options.
4. If you don't like it, delete the files and un-install it in Applications->Advanced.

Congrats! Please read the theme posting guidelines in the Stickies Notes at the top of the Media Section (and bring this theme in accordance)... where I am moving this post.

ok - Sisko was ok - Jake was lame. But Quark, now there's a character. But seriously, Garek was the best. And Kyra in the parallel universe.

It's not my style, but I thought I'd help you out, so here's a screen shot for anyone who wants one. Make sure you change your post to reflect the theme requirements or it'll get deleted....!

BTW, the bottom 6 are fixed so you can't change them and to scroll from the today you don't scroll down but instead left and then to go back up you scroll left. So it's a bit whacked.

Anyway, OP I'm no pro, but to say it's easy is really an understatement. I didn't look at anything other than the home screen, so I don't know what else you did in your half hour...

Not bad.

I'd love to have that screenshot as a wallpaper.
