Cool Soundboard Theme (83xx) - 12-22-2008, 07:10 PM

Theme Name: Soundboard
Theme Author: eVeek
Theme Credits: Unknown
Supported Device Models and OS: 83xx and must have OS 4.5
Download Links: Download .zip Download OTA
Theme Cost: Free

I didn't make this theme, but saw it on eVeek. I thought that If I posted it here, it would get better acclaim.

My thoughts: I have used the icon-style for all of my themes. But when I saw this one, I HAD to try it. I must say, it converted me. I love the look of the top bar (with the times and stuff) and the top 5 icons. The problems I have with it are the none of the icons are customizable. They are what they are. And since this is my first non-icon theme, I'm not sure if this is normal, but you can only scroll in rows; it's not free movement (e.g. If you want to get to the alarm icon, you can't just go down. You have to go across the first row, then it will warp back to alarm). But you can just press the menu button to get to all of your icons. And when you scroll over an icon, the name fades into view at the bottom. I hope you enjoyed this theme as much as I do!

That is one of the coolest looking themes I have ever seen. Thank you for posting this.

I recall checking this theme out a while back... was it updated?
Anyway, definitely love it... such a different look and cool meters. So, I'll be downloading it again

Thanks again!

After trying this theme out, I deleted it. While it is cool, it made my phone really lag. I love the main screen, but the fact that you cannot change the icons is a deal breaker for me. My needs change daily as to what I have on my main screen, so I really need something with user customizable icons. Other than that, it is a really well done theme. I am thinking that a lot of hard work went into this.

What's it look like? None of the pics are up.

EDIT: Found them somewhere else. Looks cool - concerned about the lag though.

That looks like it is for the Pearl. The 83xx version is a bit different, but you get the idea.

Yeah, I saw those pics on eVeek's site, but when I downloaded the theme, it didn't really look like that, so I decided I'd post what it looks like on the curve.

And I agree with you Heavy Fluid, I don't like that none of the icons are customizable, but luckily for me, the three main icons I use are the first three (Messages, Address Book, and Media), so I'm willing to keep it.

Maybe there's an Icon version of this out there, and we could just put the main five up top to get the same effect?

Yes... I forgot that the double bottom dock isn't customizable. That's not the end of the world when it's easy to see what the icons are and they're close to my "stock" arrangement. In this case, it's very cool but isn't practical for me.
