Default Transferring Music using BB media - 12-28-2008, 08:23 AM

It seems that everytime i try to transfer music to my BB, about 60% of the music makes it to the BB, i use BB media, ive tried roxio, but when i use BB media which i like, its stops in the middle of tramsferring saying my BB has disconnected, not sure why it says that if its connected, my BB does says if you want to open mass storage. yes or no, i say yes. is that correct?? Someone said to Burn the DRM music to an audio CD, then rip it back to the PC and then you can convert it and put in on the BB., what is DRM and how do you do this? amy help, please.

DRM = Digital Rights Management. It restricts what you can do with the music tracks you purchase. I still buy good old fashioned CD's

Do you know how to burn an audio CD trough iTunes...assuming that's what you're using?

Are you saying that music you've downloaded from LimeWire is DRM protected??? I don't really download music anymore except for .flac and .shn files so I may be out of touch here, but I think the purpose of file sharing apps like LW is to circumvent things like DRM.

If so, burn it, then rip it back to your hard drive, then put in on your BB. I'd recommend CDex or foobar2000 to rip.

Lots of songs that you download from Limewire can be damaged/imperfect files and may not play on all devices. There shouldn't be any DRM on Limewire stuff, but ya never know.

To get the burned songs from the CD to iTunes, the best way is to go to File, select Add to Library, and choose the songs on the CD. If you do the drag-and-drop, you have to go into your iTunes Library and click on the individual songs to play them in order to get iTunes to find them. Do it once and they're added for good.

Just to further clarify, what program did you use to rip the songs off the CD and on to your hard drive, and what format did the songs end up as?
