Default Media Player skipping songs - 12-30-2008, 08:33 PM

I have about 500 songs on my Curve, all in MP3 format.

My dilemma - I have three or four albums of songs, which will play in Windows Media Player, Rhapsody and Roxio Media Manager from the media card while inserted in the Blackberry (think navigate to the card and simply play the song from the card on the computer). HOWEVER, when I listen on the Curve by either choosing the song, album, or having them come up during shuffle play, will skip over them and go to the next song. If I start at the beginning of the suspect album, it will skip through all the songs quickly and stop, never uttering a peep.

It is driving me MAD. The files appear to be fine, since they play with every media player I've tried them on from the card.

Any ideas?

Wirelessly posted (9000)

I've had this on my Bold as well.

If you go to media and chose explore and locate the song in question it will play, but it won't play if chosen through the "music" menu.

No idea why.

I went and tried to replicate the behavior you have and get nothing. I also noticed that while the size of the file and all the attributes appear the same when I look at the properties through "explore", when I attempt to play the files, they show to be anywhere from 15 to 30 seconds in length.

Well I erased my memory card, reformatted it in the Blackberry, and copied the music back onto the card.

All songs behave the same way they did. Those that were bad, are still bad. Those that were OK are still OK.

There is obviously something erroneous with the files themselves that the computer can handle but the Blackberry can't.

I am going to burn the CD's and delete them music and then re-import them and see what happens.

UGH!
