Default Music folder or file id3 tags? - 12-31-2008, 10:01 PM

Hi there.
I have a ton of mp3 files that I have either made or collected over the years. When I put them onto my BB 9530 Storm most of them appear under the artist section in the media section with the proper artist name and other data like album art, however some of them end up in the unknown folder in spite of being transferred to my BB in their properly name folder. I have tried to tell the difference between the files that are ok and the ones that end up in the unknowns but cant figure out the difference.
What do I need to do to get them all to end up in the correct folders instead of unknown?
It doesn't seem to be a id3 tag issue as there seems to be the same info and tag format on both types of files.
How or what do I need to format to get this right.
All help appreciated.

The first step you must take to get what you want out of life is this: Decide what it is you want.

I've had best luck when I make sure all my tags are ID3v1.

I used a program to copy all of my v2 tags to v1, then reloaded the music.
