Question Limited number of MP3s on media card show up, help?! - 02-04-2009, 04:05 AM

Hello all,

new Blackberry user and loving it for the most part. Just got a 4gb miniSD so I could also listen to some tunes, but of the many MP3's I loaded, maybe 40 are seen by the Blackberry (probably about 300+ actually loaded)

The roxio software included with the Desktop Manager sees the other songs, as does simple browsing through the SD card directly. So, what do I have to do here?

I'm in the process of downloading the v.4.5 OS, maybe that will help?

On a related note, is there any way to assign hotkeys to control the media player? If I want to skip a track or just stop/play/resume, I have to navigate back to the player itself! BOO! Or, being a cheap/poor bastard, any FREE alternative media applications known; preferably capably of playing *.ogg files?

Thanks in advance for any tips!

Cool The v.4.5 update solves this problem - 02-04-2009, 07:26 PM

However, for those of us masochists who like to use Linux to synch their Blackberries, this update also seems to make my Micro SD card invisible!

UGH!

Well, back to the Windows machine for the moment!

Some folks have found that having the songs in folders by artist/album names cause the songs not to show up. I don't have the problem though. Did you try a battery pull? That will make cause the media player to re-index the card.

I have bout 1gb of music on mine and they all show up. however i also have them all in one folder. Now I HAD planned to get a 16gb card and put all of my music on it arranged by artist/cd, but after hearing a few other complaints similar to yours, Im back to square one...........

since the BB media player has this problem, is there any other worthy media/music players that works better?
