Question Can someone finally answer questions about how to put movies on the 9000??? - 02-04-2009, 10:24 PM

I've been searching for weeks about trying to get movies onto my 9000. It seems that everyone goes around in circles about "how to do it". I've been to a few websites to get the movies but it seems like they have viruses with a bunch of pop-ups. I downloaded "Handbrake" but don't know how to use it and I still don't have a movie to use the app with. This is getting frustrating cause I ride the train alot and would like to see a movie on my BB for my 2 hour rides. Can someone PLEASE help? I'd appreciate it and I'm sure there are others out there with the same problem....

Thanx in advance for your time and help.

You just need to get a video converter program which will make 3GP format movies for your device. A good free one is at MediaCoder - more than a universal audio/video transcoder.

After ripping the DVD, just transfer the output 3GP file to your SD card video folder and now you can play those movies. Don't bother with the download stuff. Most of it is a waste of time with junk, viruses, trojans, and who knows what else. Homebrewed is always much better.

I would also suggest a really good virus scanner (Avast - freeware) and spyware remover (superantispyware - freeware) program since you may already have issues from visiting those sites already.

There is one site that has videos already formatted for BlackBerry -- videos4blackberry.info. And they are clean -- no problems there with viruses. As pshift, avoid downloading videos (or anything) using p2p file sharing, or unknown sites, because you will surely end up with your computer infected, possibly you passwords stolen and more.

I've been tot his site "videos4blackberry.info" and they don't have movies only TV shows. Thank you guys SOOO much for the info and I'm going to try it out. If I have any problems I hope I can ask you guys for help. I'm very computer literate but sometimes I get stuck with the real techno stuff

Thanx again!

Yes, I have 2 movies I downloaded from there. But I do think finding things is not easy there, in fact, it's a bit of a PITA.
