Free 8900 Today Theme -
02-12-2009, 02:37 AM
Creator: Me
Name: Basic Today
Cost: Free
Link: Dylo's Blackberry Themes - Curve 8900 Theme: Basic Today
Here is my first theme for the 8900. Just a basic today theme.
The first version has 2 lines for Messages and 3 lines for Calendar appts.
By request I just created a second version that has 2 lines for messages, 2 lines for appts and also shows the Application Name on the homescreen (see the 3rd screenshot).

I like this theme but it doesn't work well if you set the italian language.
The screen shows a bad date... gg/02 for every appointment!!!

Ya, you are right it does.
Oh well I guess that explains why this version of Plazmic (the only version that currently allows the creation of 8900 themes) is only a Beta. Hopefully the full release version of Plazmic 4.7 will come out soon.

I think when you export it in the theme creator, you need to make sure you include international characters. It's a check box in the export window.

Canada and the States do not use the the same date format, Canada is the same as Europe.
However that is not what I was asking.
The question was whether or not Italian uses different number characters other than the standard: 0123456789
Since they don't then whether or not you select "Use international characters" on the theme builder it would not cause the issue that was mentioned.

Just installed this as I have really been missing the vodafone today from my pearl, but for whatever reason the calendar home screen is showing odd entries. For instance, the two listed are for May and then September when I have plenty of entries from this time till then...
Anyone else experiencing this?
Also, is there a way to extract the default tmo wallpaper as I would like to put that back on with this?

The reason you would have that issue is because your BB has multiple calendars but the homescreen only recognizes the Default Calendar.
Here is what you need to to:
Go to: Options>Advanced Options>Default Services>Calendar(CICAL): And change that to whatever option you have been using for your appointments.
If you are unsure of what calendar you normally use then open any appointment in your calendar and look at the very top to see what is listed next to "Send using:" (or "Received using:") whatever is listed there is what you want to change your Default Calendar to.

I Chillin, today is out the new "Plazmic 4.7 beta 2",
perhaps they have resolved the bug of blutooth icon on the left side?
After, can i ask you a favor?
Is it possible to have the "messages" and "calendar" written in yellow?
like the old OEM Today plus on the 8300 series. Many, many, many thanks

Does anyone else here have a problem after this theme is installed and selected, do a battery pull. Once I've done this, the device hangs upon reboot and after I get it to life, it won't show any of the messaging applications on the device anymore.
No good, but wanted to check and see if others are having trouble with it.

You should be able to get your apps back by resending service books.
But that really doesn't sound like a theme problem. I think you have some other issue going on there.

If you combine your inboxes then the Messages app will show both your SMS and your Email.
(Messages>Options>General Options>SMS & Email Inboxes: Combined)

when you go from home screen to icon menů and after turn back to home, you can see a little bluetooth icon on the left side (in addition of the correct bluetooth icon on the rigth side) just near the profile icon, till that you go to select the profile and so it disappeared.

Thank you for this theme and one small question: how can I (or you) change the 2 lines (messages and calendar) with something else. For example, instead of email messages I would like to have sms messages.

Yup, thanks. That did it. Would it be too much to ask for Tasks instead of Calendar or maybe even both? SMS, Calendar and Tasks?
Anyway, thanks for you help.

I thought in this case (this particular theme) the SMS/email combo is theme-controlled (both will show up in the "messages" line of the theme). So this step isn't necessary.

You want tasks as one of the smaller icons on the left? That is what the 6 icons on the bottom are for. Since Tasks is not an active today item it seems rather pointless to have it as one of the today items.

Unfortunately that does not seem to work, if you have it set to Theme Controlled (or obviously to Seperate) it still has them as seperate, so you need to select Combined (I personally always leave mine to Combined, so a theme that has it as seperate won't force them apart).
Another issue, with the Plazmic beta I guess.

Not to hijack this thread at all, in fact I'm not going to post a link, but I created a theme very similar to this one that uses a very light gray color for the text. If you look at my profile you can find where I posted it.
Also, the problem with the theme and my messages disappearing is for sure theme related. I can disable the theme, reboot and the problem is gone. I still get message notification sounds and such coming through, but he entire messaging app crashes and is completely gone from the menu system. Also happens if I update a theme without first removing it and restarting. I've heard of a few other people having strange problems like that as well, I'm guessing it will go away when 4.7 is out of beta.
