Default 8900 Theme - Basic Today (FREE) - 02-13-2009, 03:23 PM

Theme name: Sparky's Theme
Theme author: Me
Theme credits: Everything came from the Plazmic package
Supported Device Model(s) and OS: 8900, OS 4.6.1
Download Link: OTA

I've been missing my Vodafone Today theme ever since I got off the Curve so I decided to put together a very simple substitute. The icons are small since it has to fit all four categories but it works well enough. Hope you enjoy.

My bad. Apparently the file host I'm using isn't a good fit for a direct download. I'll fix it up shortly and provide the updated link.

Thanks!

I think I finally found a place to drop the files - didn't realize what a pain that would be. I tested it out on my 8900 and it worked.

now with the new "Plazmin 4.7 beta 2" it is possible to fix the bug of the bluetooth icon that appears twice in the menů and on the left side near the profiles icon.

Please Sparky, can you fix this beautiful theme? Thank you

I haven't done a lot of research on the beta version. I know that bluetooth thing drives me crazy. I'll take a look at the beta and if it takes care of it I'll post a new build. Thanks for enjoying the theme!

I made a tinyurl link for easier OTA typing on your mobiles for anyone that needs it :

http://tinyurl.com/akbmja

25 characters beats 60 something

Also, I like the theme a lot. Is it possible to choose which icons appear on the home screen?

I'm far from a good theme builder and wouldn't know how to build a theme that allows you to choose which icons appear on the home screen. Having said that, let me know what you want and I can make a build with your specific icons. I'm d/l the most recent version of Plazmic now and will re-do the original theme for anyone who wants it.

Thanks!

And I rebuilt the previous theme using the more recent beta version of Plazmic...I haven't tested it as I got rid of my 8900 and am back to the Bold but let me know if it takes care of the BT icon issue. Thanks!

Thanks for the bbm theme, sparky. The only issue is when there is an incoming message the red asterisk on the icon does not show. Not sure if it can be fixed but thanks for trying. Either way its a great theme!

Very nice theme. My only suggestion would be to eliminate the "Call Log" on the home screen. You can get to this via the send button easy enough. Then you would have room for a row of icons at the bottom. Also, the SMS icon is very hard to see.

Well done, thanks for your contribution.

I have the opposite problem. I can't get the red asterisk on the icon to NOT show. Even after reading the message(s).

Nice theme, I have a couple troubles related to it though.

Calendar only shows events from the default calendar. The other calendars are ignored.

The applications menu jumps around a bit. It's hard to explain but scrolling to one of the edges causes two things. 1. The icon isn't highlighted. 2. Shortly afterward the menu will jump back toward the beginning.

Other than that it works great. It isn't too busy for me, and I'm distracted fairly easily.

I just finished updating the theme with a version with sms at the bottom and another with bbm. I don't have the device to tesst on or the simulators installed - and I'm not much of a theme developer - so let me know your thoughts and I'll try to take care of any issues/suggestions.

Hehehe...sorry about that. I blew away the old .thm files when I reinstalled the new version of Plazmic and forgot which fonts I used. I re-added the themes to the download location with the correct ones - I hope.

Okay...been away from BBF for a few weeks and now getting back into the swing of things. I <hope> this is the stuff you're looking for. I took the original theme layout and made a BBM and SMS version. Let me know if you have problems with it. I'm so confused right now as to what people want that I'm about to start over .
