Default Playing MP4 - 03-12-2009, 02:59 AM

I haven't tried to play music on my BB since I just got a new one. I have seen that it appears nothing has changed with NOT being able to play mp4-- Is that correct

In the past I was told to burn then re-rip and it did not work.

They say there is some program out there that puts your iTune music on the BB but that won't let u play it if it locked, right?

What is that program?

Thanks. Man thisis frustrating. I have a few, I didn't even get from itunes and can't play them and then one or two I did and can't play

thanks so much
Eric

What is relevant about music purchased on the iTunes system in AAC or MP4 format is that it can only be played back in the iTunes software or on an iPod, while the MP3 format is supported by all music devices (including the iPod). There are several software apps on the marked (just search) that convert the AAC format (Advanced Audio Coding, commonly referred to as MP4) to MP3.
I have many songs and several videos (DVDs) on my 8900 that originated on my iTunes.

Wow, thanks for the nice reply. Sometimes people assume people don't search. I think I did search for that last year and the issue MAY have been that there were no freeware ones out there. I will try to look again but nice reply and it is good to know that THERE IS NO WAY AS IS THEY WILL PLAY AS IS

mp4/aac audio works fine on my Storm. Worked fine on my 8830 as well. You sure you can't play AAC audio? I'm pretty sure this is a standard BB offering.

See here for the list of supported formats.

What video and audio formats are supported?? - BlackBerryFAQ

AAC/AAC+/eAAC+ (.m4a or .aac) is on the list.

However, if the iTunes files are DRM protected, they will play only in iTunes and on the iPod.

If you rip them, then burn them to a CD, then rip them from the burned CD, you will be able to play them on any device as it removes the DRM.

Or if not any of you would be willing to tell me if you would take a zipped file of these to your email and let me know if they are corrupt or what to do. I'd appreciate it.

If you know what AVN is I am dealing with having 5, yes 5 all at once now and am in a lot of pain but wanna clear all my email out.
