Default MP3 Ringtones - 03-14-2009, 08:18 PM

I trimmed an MP3 file and put it on my BlackBerry in the ringtones folder. However it doesn't show up on the device. What are the specs for MP3s to be used as ringtones? Any other input as to what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!

Did you put it on the media card or on the device memory?

Go into your Media Icon, press the menu key and select explore. Browse to the file.

On the media card. I'm not sure how I would transfer it from a PC to the device memory.

When you select explore, are you able to locate the file?

I'm guessing, move it to the device memory?

Do a battery pull, then it should show up.

So it can be on either the media card or the device memory?

It can be stored on either..

If it is on the media card and you have Mass Storage active it will not play that ring tone.

(By active I mean your BB plugged into a computer/stereo)

Usually it's better to keep that stuff on the media to save your device memory for the important things.
