if i have only a jad. file and it was for a theme i like can save it and use again or is there someway i can install it on the next blackberry i'm about to get ?? all help greatly appreciated

You most likely won't be able to use the same file unless you buy the same model as your current bb. The themes are made device specific...the file used on my 8320, won't work on somes 9000...if the developer created the theme in the format for the bb you are going to buy, you'll have to download that file and put it on your new bb.

Yes. Use the device switch wizard to back up the old phone... then restore to the new phone.
