Default Blackberry Media Sync not working - 05-16-2009, 05:16 PM

I am new to BB's. I just got an 8350i from work and the IT doesnt care what I do with it b/c I bought it. Anyway I am trying to use the Media Sync option to sync all the music on iTunes to my Curve.

Everytime I try and hit "Start" An error message pops up...

"The BlackBerry Media Sync failed to initialize. Please run the BlackBerry Desktop Manager with administrative privilieges and try again."

I have tried this on my work computer which the IT guy deemed me an administrator on the machine, as well as my laptop that I am on now, which is an adminstrative account as well as the original account on my laptop. I am in the administrative role and cannot get this to open.

I have uninstalled and reinstalled twice on both machines(which takes forever). I have formatted my media card a dozen times, rebooted the computer a few times, and restarted the program a few times and still nothing.

Does anyone have any ideas?

EDIT: I have tried the Desktop Manager help section and it is worthless.

Disregard below post, I missed that you already have a media card. Sorry.

I believe you need a media card in that phone to use Media Sync. I did. Something you will have buy and install.

If this is a work computer policies might be in place somewhere though out the work systems/network.. Most likely by Microsoft Group Policy.

Is this a Windows XP or Vista machine?

Also try and run a windows Update Media Sync requires .net framework.

For the first time I feel the future might hold something different for me. It's possible I'm fooling myself but I'm willing to take the risk.

Alot of my songs are iTunes protected so just putting them on the media card wont work, at least as easily as Media Sync could do it.

Both of my comps are Vista and have .net framework.

There are no policies like that, the IT guy gave me full administrative rights and said there arent any polices like that on my work computer, my personal definetly has nothing of the sort.

Any other ideas?
