Default Music for Ring tones - 05-17-2009, 10:45 PM

I want to copy some music to my phone to use them as ring tones.

I tried using the media manager in the desktop manager, but everytime I try to copy some of the songs down it keeps telling me there is not enough space.

I am sure I am not doing it correctly.

What is the easiest way to load the songs on the micro card? to use as ringtones. Or is there another way besides on the micro card.

You can't use an entire song as a ringtone... that's why you are getting the message that it's too large. But there area couple of websites and some free apps that let you create a ringtone from a mp3 on your pc.

I can't remember the names of the sites atm. One of the programs is Audacity. I'm going to move your thread to the Media Center forum and someone there will know the websites and other apps.

Also check this for how to get ringtones on your phone.

Thanks..the link was good.

But even when I am trying to copy songs to music and not to ringtones it is not copying with desktop manager. Thanks for moving my thread to the right place.

Are you copying them to device memory or to the media card? You should only use the media card because your device memory will fill up too fast and if it gets too low, you will start losing sms messages, etc.

If you are already trying to move songs to the media card and getting that error, try the copy/paste or drag and drop method using Windows Explorer. It's really easier than using Desktop Manager anyway.

I just read how to copy and paste and that was much easier! I guess that is easier for everything from pictures to music to ring tones huh!!

Is there way to check the memory on my phone. It seems to run slow every once in a while...like it gets stuck...I was wondering if that was it.

Yes, you can copy/paste or drag/drop on any media files.

To check your memory available, called File Free on the device, to go Options > Status.

If you haven't read the BlackBerryFAQ, link in my sig, I highly recommend it. You will find a lot of helpful info there.
