Default 8900: MiniTodayWeather - 06-03-2009, 02:57 AM

Theme name: MiniTodayWeather
Theme author: morrow95
Supported Device Model(s) and OS: 8900 4.6
Download Link(s): RapidShare: Easy Filehosting
Theme Cost: FREE

Alright, I made my first theme this morning and after playing with composer updated it already to a completely new one. I am really getting the hang of composer - its not too tough at all.

- 8 bottom dock items on homescreen (icons are smaller than usual to fit 8 of them as well as give more room for today area.

- 3 calendar entries and 3 message entries on homescreen

- the profiles icon in the upper left has been replaced with a weather spot (or any application you wish).

- the weather icon also shows on your lock screen

- I recommend using a blue wallpaper as I did not include one with the theme. I use the one in the sample pictures.

- bottom icons will be whatever the first 8 icons you list in your applications screen (not all the same as shown in the screenshot)

Let me know what you all think. It's a simple and basic theme, but gets the job done. I might go ahead and do custom icons and other changes if people like it. Let me know.

Alright, well since I just finished this thing tonight I've only had it on my phone for a few hours and already noticed something. The weather icon is not updating on the homescreen because it has been resized (I'm assuming) because it updates just fine on the lock screen (normal 80px).

Anyone know of a fix for this issue?

I don't know an answer to your weather problem, but you should know that you can upload .zip files as an attachment. It's much more user friendly than rapidshare. Much more (no waiting).

Okay, I have updated the theme... below are the changes :

- weather is now full size (to fix the homescreen update issue) and is located in the top left

- moved around the time, date, carrier, etc in the homescreen banner due to the having to change the weather icon mentioned above

- profiles button is now located on the right side of the top banner (it was removed in the previous version)

- lockscreen still has weather on it but is now located in the top left (same place as the home screen

Remember, your first 8 icons listed in the app menu are the ones which will be in your bottom dock. The ninth icon is your weather slot (top left of banner and can be anything you want, but intended for weather slot).

Other than that the botto dock icons are not going to update since they are smaller, but since the notification icons are going to be in your banner I dont see it as a huge problem.

Let me know what you guys think and if you have any suggestions...

Please give us a OTA link. Zip files don't work for me. Thanks

Yes the weather wasn't updating due to the smaller size, you will also lose the notification little bubble as well when the icons is shrunk.

BTW where in Ohio are you?

Well I fixed the weather issue by keeping it regular size in the top left - it updates just fine now. Hopefully Plazmic fixes the issue with resized icons and auto updating down the road as it would be nice for the small bottom dock items to update.

Alright, here is the update... I added the 'glow' effect when you rollover any o the icons...

- first 8 icons in app screen are your bottom dock icons and the 9th icon is your weather slot (or any icon you want) which goes in the top left. This slot also shows on your lock screen and WILL autoupdate (perfect for weather).

can you make one with just all calendar events like 6 or so, with the 8 icons on the bottom?

I'm playing around with some new ideas and layout right now. Should have something down the road. For now, if people can just put their suggestions up that would be great.

It's not going to - the icons are resized - it will show your notification icon up top though - this was mentioned in previous posts...

My bad, missed it. One other nit... the battery meter gets covered up when there is traffic. Not a big deal, but it would look much cleaner if the icon was moved a bit to the left.

Made a totally new design, but the bottom icons seem to be lagging somewhat and I can't figure it out for the life of me... I'm hoping someone chimes in and I figure it out myself... there has to be some little trick to this so there is smooth scrolling - then again, Plazmic isnt the best piece of software either...

Wonderful theme.

Being an ex-win mobile user, I kind of missed the upcoming appointments on my home screen.

How come when I try to load this via DM it tells me there are no applications for my device. I've directed it to the proper folder, I'm using an 8900 - I don't get it. Any help here would be appreciated

Thanks

Never mind - its some kind of issue with my desktop
