Background on 8700 -
12-20-2005, 07:22 AM
Will any of these cover the "entire" 8700 screen? I have downloaded the solid black which looks great, but it only goes as high as where"cingular" is at. The date and time , volume, battery area does not get filled in. Any help?

You are welcome. I'll post a few more images when I get a chance. I like whsbuss's first image above. I went out and found it and will resize and post.

Just a few more backgrounds. Formatted for the 8700. I'm kind of partial to the last one.

Theme for 7290 -
12-20-2005, 04:20 PM
I created this theme for my 7290. It has the resolution to fill the screen and the colors go well with the default 7290 theme.

I am partial to the Gator background as well, but I still can't fill the entire screen. Not sure why?

It should fill the entire screen, but depending on what theme you have loaded, it may not look like it. The Cingular theme has stripes across the top and bottom. Have you tried selecting a different theme and seeing how it looks?

Love the Golf image, do U by change have that in a .png file format? When i convert it i seem to loose all the quality of the picture and can't use it. I'm trying to make a golf theme.
I need some more images so i can make more themes for the 7100i. It seems not all .jpg files work and sometimes need converted to .png b4 they work.
I posted two in the completed themes section.
http://www.blackberryforums.com/showthread.php?t=21560
anyway i could use more wallpaper for additional ideas.

PM me with your email address or PIN. I'll send you the png file. I also have an 8700-based theme for the 71xx series but the zip is too big to post.

Just use an image editor like Photoshop or ACDSee and scale them to size, for a 7250 you should do 240 x 160 pixels.

The simplest method is to email it to yourself as an attachment then save. To set one as background use the Pictures applicaton.
Hope this helps.

Stoxx, pretty cool background. First two are from my favorite beach, Cape San Blas in the FL panhandle. Taken with Nikon 4500 set on fine mode and max size. (formatted for 8700, 320x240)

Everytime I try to use this background, I get an error that it can't be used because the file is larger than 60kb, so I have resaved it as a lower quality JPG and still no luck, any ideas???

Blackberrys are not meant to be hip yuppy playtoys, they are designed to be reliable, secure communication tools. As such they have only limited personallization capibilities and PC interface functions. I no of no way that images can be transferred to the blackberry over USB. Without the BB data service, there isn't really much you can do.
And the Picture Application is one of the applications provided with your blackberry OS.

Try converting to pgn format yourself and see how large a file it creats. As I understand it the pgn format files are usually larger than jpg.
Hope this helps.
