Post 8130 Media Card Frustration

Please Login to Remove!

Hi All-

I've had my pearl for a year and a half and now the media card is acting up. I bought it with the phone and formatted it before it was installed. 18 months later and out of nowhere my phone is telling me that it needs to be formatted again. When I put the (SanDisk 2GB MicroSD) card into the adapter and into my computer, it doesn't recognize it, nothing pops up. When I plug my phone into the computer and open up BlackBerry Desktop Manager and then Roxio, it recognizes there's a media card but tells me that Mass Storage needs to be enabled. It is. The support is on and it's auto enabled.

I know I can reformat my card on my phone but I just can't stand to lose everything. I don't understand how one program can recognize it and another can't.

Any help is greatly appreciated! I've read a ton of posts and tried all sorts of things others have suggested but it doesn't seem like anyone else has this exact problem.

Thanks!

I've run into this before when I accidently resized a picture on my computer that I took on the BB. I put the media card back into the BB and got the format message. So, did you do anything like that on yours?

Just copy the contents of your card onto your computer and then format the card on the BB and transfer the stuff back to it.
