Default 7130e mp3 ringers here!

Please Login to Remove!

alrighty...
ive had my 7130 for about a week, and ive posted the ringers ive made so far here:
http://www.breakerfall.org

(its a redirect to http://www.nocompany.org/berry just in case)

they are mostly made from good old guitar based rock and roll

for those trying to make their own ringers, they are all:
mono
32kbps bit rate
22Hz sampling

and they were all made from original mp3s with audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net)

enjoy, and be gentle with my server!

your Mp3's were the first that I was able to play on my BB.

Could you please tell me step by step how you uploaded them?

I am looking to create maybe a dozen or so tunes.

If I sent you .wav files or .mp3 files that were cut to the right amount of time could you host them for me for a short time?

any help you could provide would be great.

Default audacity

alrighty...
heres the deal...

download audacity - http://audacity.sourceforge.net
install it
in Preferences, goto Quality and change the default sample rate to 22050, and in File Formats change the MP3 bitrate to 32

open an mp3 with audacity...

what i do is:
* select the section you want the ringer to be
* copy it and open a new project in audacity
* paste your selection
* place the cursor at the very beginning of the file and Generate|silence
* trim the silence to 1.25 seconds, so there is some silence at the beginning of the track
* split the stereo track
* make both tracks mono
* export to mp3

you're done!

questions?

JRock, i am able to play yours as well. How would i go about sending you some mp3's so that you could put them up? i still need to edit them down to size, so it will be a little bit before i send them to you.

let me know the best way to do this and then i would appreciate if you could host them for a short time. probably about a dozen tones or so.

thanks in advance.

breaker, thanks for explaining how you make the file.

i have been chopping up Mp3's for a while now.

Another questions I have.

Is length of the file a concern? I would imagine you wouldnt want anything long, but is there a maximum time?

i am trying to keep everything around 20 seconds.

does it matter?

if either of you can host some of these mp3's for me for a short time i would greatly appreciate it. let me know how i can get them to you.

Default Won't play on my 8700c

I tried a few. Maybe the 7130e and 8700 have different requirements?

Just a question, don't want to be of any annoyance. I have tried making my own ring tune, I have tried e-mailing it to myself, nothing has worked. I can download .mp3 files through websites I have found for my BB (7130), but I only want one ring tune and I cannot find it anywhere. I want Save a horse ride a cowboy by Big and rich (sounds cheezy but trust me, good song). Anyway, could you be of any help to me? Let me know. Thanks so much.

Default Alternate Upload

After creating your mp3/ringer in the correct format, you can use the following site to upload your ringer.

http://www.mobileup.org

It will send a message with a link directly to your Blackberry. Then Download.
