Default Sonar ringtone - 03-11-2006, 08:37 AM

I'm looking for an mp3 copy of the 8700c's sonar tone.

I seem to have a 8700 that is on steriods and most of the tones are way too loud.
and yes, before you ask, the volume level is set on low.

with my custom tones, I just use MP3Gain to reduce the volume level and then MiniRingtone to get it on my device.

I've found other sonar tones, but none like the stock one.

On the latest Verizon upgrade, there's a Notify_Sonar tone.

Default RingTone too loud - 03-20-2006, 09:00 AM

Yea, Thats not something I've ever had a problem with on any of the other blackberrys I've carried.

I guess it's a good problem to have.

ringtones cannot be extracted from the handhelds, so this is not going to be a request that can be granted, unfortunately.

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.

Default My workaround - 03-20-2006, 09:10 AM

I just recorded the sound on a dell axim that I use as a test subject.
transfered the recorded .wav to my notebook, converted it to a mp3 and resampled the file to obtain the volume level I was looking for.
Then used the app "MiniRingTone" to get it back on my 8700.

Always more than 1 way to skin a cat.
