Default I will make you a theme 7290 ONLY - 03-23-2006, 12:30 PM

Howdy Everyone!

I am learning to build themes in plazmic, and would like a few concepts to build. If you have a 7290 and a specific color scheme/images you want in it, please reply to the thread with what you would like.

I would love to get a Raiders 7290 theme. I have seen the custom theme thread but I'm not surfing through 20 pages of 8700 and 71xx themes to find the few 7290 themes that are in there. So any themes that you come up with I would love to download. I'm not so into custom themes like the superman one above because I'm not into niche things like that. But just generic custom themes would be great. If you wanna make a custom theme for me anything Raiders, Bulls, Ohio state, UNC them would be great.

I will be working on all theme projects on Saturday.

So far I will be making the following themes for the 7290

- Hot Girl Type
- Girly Theme Request
- Raiders Type
- Generic Run of the Mill Type

I also saw the custom themes thread but didnt see anything I liked.
IF anyone has a specific request for me, please post here with images you would like used, or a common theme.

If you would like to help me out with theming the 7290 like making button sets or graphics, let me know VIA PM.

Thanks for everyone giving me ideas. all the above themes will be complete on saturday, and I will post them here once they are complete.

I am also working on my own icon set(s)

THanks for the support and ideas guys. Ill post what I come up with.

if people would start posting icon sets and themes sets maybe we all could start helping build themes.

I'm finding icons are the hardest to find and I'm not that great with photoshop, but can put themes together aswell.

A collective group thing would be a great idea for everyone.

Can you make a very basic theme. Make it very compact leaving the most room for the icon list view. Have a small bar on top with the date/time/battery life/GPRS strength. I will download the theme making program and try it myself but I have a feeling you could make a lot better one.

Thanks
Silent

yes I saw that thread with the 1 set of icons, but if we all started to post different icons and wallpapers the new can create a central location for them.

One Problem, the PTB will not allow modifications to the locations of the Banner Components. You can only use the ones in the Base themes for model you are building for.

Hope this helps.

CS2 = 9.0
CS = 8.0
...and 7.0 was the last one that was labeled with a version number...

Does anybody know how to reduce "home screen resource size"? I keep getting this warning everytime I export a theme.

you have to use like photoshop or an image editing software to deduce the size. it has to be 60kb or less

Thanks. I am trying without luck. I have reduced the size to (240x160); change format (PNG-JPEG) and reduce the opacity... but nothing!!!

If you are using Photoshop, use the Save for Web option and select PNG-8 and see if this will make the File Size less than 60 KBytes.

Hope this helps.

The thing is that after all the changes (including opacity), when i have the right size and one of valid formats from Photoshop. Then, I am going to insert it in plazmic but it shows as a solid file.

In the photoshop Save for Web view, one of the options is custom, optimize for File Size. Set this to 56K. Should work

Hope this helps.

No luck either. let's take it one step at a time.
I open the 7200 homescreen mask from plazmic themes which is 240x160 which when it opens looks like it has some opacity.
The moment i change it to jpeg, it is solid. No opacity! Can this be? Because the size remains the same...

Don't change it to jpeg. Jpeg does NOT support transparency. Save it as PNG. This is your problem. The PTB automatically changes jpegs to png, at an increased size.

Hope this helps.

In reference to your homescreen mask, using that file in anything other than 100% opacity will only fog or make you wallpaper seem less clear.
So if you want the wallpaper to appear foggy or not totaly clean/clear use the default home screen mask. If you want to see your wallpaper totally perfectly use a clear home screen mask image.

ok. Thank you for your comments everyone. For you to have an idea of what i am trying to do. On the plazmic theme builder, I have inserted the default 8700 background (JPEG) measuring 240x160 and on the mask, i am trying to insert the default 7200 home screen mask (PNG). It says it is too big. Is it because of the background being JPEG? I am just trying new things!

I think i may have done it!!! I changed the background format from JPEG to PNG since you guys said that JPEG doesn't support transparency. It was like the background was not letting transparency through! hehe.

Thank you for all your help!!
