I've been browsing through the forum and it seems that most of the tones being posted here are longer "ring" tons..

does anyone have an extensive source of neutral short message style tones- soemthing that can be set for messages, pins, etc, etc..

Try creating your own voice alerts. Using your 8700 Internet Breowser, go to this link. Select a voice/language, type in your text and click on the Play button. When you get what you want roll over to the far right button and save it. You might want to change the filename to something readable.
