I've made all of mine on a Mac- using Virtual PC to run the Plazmic software, creating the graphics on the Mac, and either OTA or my business PC to install.

Once you get set up, you can waste all of your free time making themes, like some of us!

It sounds like Mac users will be getting an application loader in the 2nd release of PocketMac when RIM starts distributing it (for free) in February. So there is light at the end of your tunnel.

As requested by many, I have posted zip files containing the source .thm and all associated images for each of my three versions of Bliss (7100, 7200, 8700) on my web site (http://3xmk.com/techtalk/blackberry). As the README says, modify to your heart's content but please don't redistribute anything that contains my original graphics. Thanks, and enjoy!

Thanks,

I second mr pinks request. Further I tried downloading plazmic to virtual pc last night. Didn't work out too well. I have adhd after about two hours of problems i said screw this and shut down. I am leaving the creating to the professionals and praying someone is a car nut like me and will maybe make a jeep based theme for a 7100 at somepoint.

Yeah that mac theme is WOW. LOVE IT.

Maybe you could use some graphics software just to do a mockup of what you have in mind. Then one of us with the Plazmic software could do a theme with that idea.

well the apple aqua theme was posted one page back or something like that so that is already mocked up. I am not very creative or well good at this kinda stuff but um maybe each icon is the symbol of a car brand or yeah idk I guess this idea kinda sucked. But someone posted a apple aqua theme for the 8700 that I would LOVE to have for my 7130 to install ota. I would almost pay for that.

I think you've hit the nail on the head. Icons are a big part of the visual impact of these themes -- the only other big part, I think, than the top banner and menus/dialogs. Since there are so many BB applications on these devices, it is difficult to come up with a wholly new icon theme. I made Bliss using the default 8700 4.1 icons (or the default 7100 4.1 icons in that device's case). However, I am currently working on another theme and have spent more than three hours trying to assemble a cohesive icon set for all the apps.

If you want a Jeep theme or something like that, the only thing I can think of doing (other than maybe changing one or two icons) is somehow incorporating a watermark of the Jeep logo into the top banner and/or dialogs. But that could be messy; there's already a lot going on in the top banner and I wouldn't want to clutter it up more. The best solution I think is to find yourself a cool Jeep wallpaper and then use it with one of the themes already available. I know the default theme and my Bliss theme, at least, will work well with just about any wallpaper you put with it.

Wallpapers are very easy (themes, a different story). Go on the Jeep website or do a web search for a pic of a Jeep. Copy the image to your PC. Open the image in MS Paint. Set Attributes Height and Width to match your device screen size. Save as a JPG file. Email JPG to your BB account. Open email. Open attached JPG. Save to BB. Open Pictures. Select JPG. In Options, set as home screen background.

When I load all of these themes my desktop of my 7130e gets flooded with stuff like passwordkeeper, calculator, and brickbreaker. With the default theme these are in subfolders. Is there a way to remove these extra icons from the desktop?
