It can be downloaded, both for the Application Loader and OTA from this location:

the grey line that splits the screen is way to sharp. It is the eyesore of the picture. It just does not look right. Maybe you can make it less beveled or fade in or something?

Thanks for the feedback.

I assume you have looked at it on the screen of a 7100 and not just the web screen shots, right? I've found the gamut of the displays is hard to predict and seeing it on the screen will make a reasonable difference.

Hey MegaBit... I have been an avid Mac user for the last 10 years....
i gotta say that this theme honestly makes me feel like I am using a little mac.
You really paid attention to detail , and picked the perfect icons forthe applications!!!
Love the mac desktop background.

What really freaked me out is the apple in the right hand corner of applications that mimics the apple on the left hand corner for MAC with the File Options etc..

Great work.

by faaar the best theme I have seen for the 7100 series

Unfortunately, not at this time. Its a ton of work to port it with all the details and I won't release anything other than the best possible graphics.

Maybe in the future- measured in weeks.

Would anyone be willing to do an 8700C theme for me based on my favorite NASCAR teams?
I love the Square D (www.squared.com) and Schneider Electric (www.schneider-electric.com) racing teams.

I'm loving all the other themes in this thread, keep up the great work!
Are there any how-to pages you guys know of on creating killer themes like the others here?

Quick favor to ask, can someone with the editor and everything installed take Mr Rogers excellent Bliss Theme 7100 and just edit the fonts so it's "BBClarity", Plain, Antialiasing On and Type 7?

That's all I want but I'm having trouble installing the editor myself. Appreciate if someone would be so kind.

serisouly it takes longer to donwload and install the theme crap. Making themes is super super easy, it is as easy as clicking your mouse. I encourage everyone to fart around with it.. It comes with default templates. a 8 year old kid to do this. honestly

I guess my only suggest is maybe change the bb messenger icon to say the ichat icon? I personally do not use a mac, but thought it would be a nice addition (or cheesey).

Also is there a way to animate the icons? For instance if you hightlight the address book, could the book open you go over it? Just suggestions, if it doesnt happen the theme is great either way, I LOVE the theme and will continue to use it.

I was thinking that since there are multiple messengers that can be loaded, the BB one should stay like that to distinguish it as the BB Messenger. Hope that makes sense.

On the Mac platforms, the icons aren't animated other than an optional enlargement on the dock when you roll over them. My intent was to mmic that with the raised icon and the little black triangle beneath, which also mmics an open application as shown in the Mac dock. Making animated icons is possible (such as the ones MacBerry has now) but more complex ones would only require lots of time and energy to create them.

Thanks for the comments- they'll all be used for Rev 2.

64 x 48

png24 (for background transparency)

You'll get dither problems with png8 at 128 or 256 color.

Would I have to use an icon that is 64x48 exactly? Can I use one that's smaller? or will I have to make it 64x48 and then set some transparencies?

Thanks

Default Theme Builder help - 01-25-2006, 08:44 PM

I've being trying to figure this out for a few days now and have not had any luck. When I'm done creating a theme, I export it as ALX, and I always get this warning message:

Warning: The following resources could not be included in the theme for reasons explained below:
Homescreen Background

Warning: Homescreen Background: Resource is bigger than 60 kb.

The backgrounds I tried are in jpeg format, I know I'm doing something wrong, I just can't figure it out.

Need HELP!!!

The dimensions of the file should be 64 x 48. That's how they tile on the screen. However, the icon image within that size can be anything you want. So yes, that is where the transparency comes in- any area you want the background to show needs to be blank and when you save the .png24 file, make sure transparency is enabled.

That's right-- there is a bug in the Plazmic SW that blows up JPGs when it converts them to png. They need to be about 35K or less if JPEG, depending on the complexity of the image, or just less than 60K if png format.

1) The streak or glare...hmm, maybe Verizon doesn't put their network name there like GSM carriers do. I'll have to go look at images on their web site to see. It's easily removed as a layer from a homescreen mask file.

2) GSM carriers turn on network indictors to alert you. In the case of Cingular, they might have an SOS in place of the network protocol and it's pretty cool when its red. I also found when the battery gets low, the gauge will turn red. However, these are all or nothing so I can make them black and it will be up to the user to know somethign is different. No problem.

Great feedback- thanks.

Have you guys seen the "automator" yet? One way I see him on mine is to have an image in the browser, and then save it. You'll get a dialog box menu with the little dude standing there.

MegaBit, don't change the red icons. I love them! Yeah my batteryindicator always did go red when low. Yeah could be a vzw streak cause we don't have our name up there. Accept the ping. Later buddy.

Talking Food Insipired theme - 01-26-2006, 10:08 AM

If you know anything about icons, you know of one man. FOOOOD!!!!

Food has made some amazing icons over the years that i love and use all the time. I have decided to make a personally theme for myself that was alittle more airy then the mario theme.

Hence i show you "Fooood" the blackberry theme

P.S. So far i have created two themes. I have not made any of the graphics for them. I did a doctor, cut job of images to make themes. I do not take creative credit for teh actual art work. I have emailed the authors of the wallpapers and the icons and asked them for permission to distrubute my themes for free with there hard work on them. I will not release any till i get permission.

your pm will not help you. I am an advocate for doing the right thing and giving credit where it is due.
