Why is everyone just changing the wallpapers and a few colors, come on guys lets put a little work ingot it, and change the icons and everything too.
Ahh? I agree and it has come down to time. Given time i will add icons to suit the theme. Adding the icons specific to the theme is a little time consuming and i have not had the time (considering the holiday)
Well if you guys want use Adobe CS2 it take a little time to learn but once you get it it's easy as hell, When I made my theme I made the icons 130 X 130 and it shrank them nicely. Also to get rid of the bar at the top, where the clock is just create a transparent background in Adobe and it clears it so you can see your whole background.

That was a great idea thx. The clear image improves the overall look.

srl7741, waiting on that golf theme. But please take time off and enjoy the holidays first. The themes you have posted look great.
I do have some good golf clipart, but it's nothing you couldn't google image just as well as I did. Let me know if you want me to send some of them to you.
Ignorance more frequently begets confidence than does knowledge. CD
Tell me what you guys think, I got a screenshot so you guys won't whine about it, hope you enjoy, PM me and I will send it to you if you want it. What ever icon is being selected it turns into the hockey puck, not as good as my NFL theme but it will do for all of my canadian buddies eh? From Tampa tho, Home of the reigning Stanley Cup, the Tampa Bay Lightning.
Oh and BTW I made the 7100i theme, SRL did not make it, not to sound like a b**** but, give credit where it's due, thanks.

Does anyone have, or know where I can find a 8700 List Theme that I can then modify with the Theme Builder? I have List Themes for the 7100 but nothing for the 8700.

Thanks for any help.
The CDK doesnt support 8700 list themes (to my dissapointment also).
They have stated they hope to add that in a future release.
Greeting all,
I've just downloaded the Theme Builder, so here's my first attempt. Quickly made to get my feet wet, but I'll put some more effort into my next.
P.S., couldn't figure out how to attach a thumbnail!
This is the first theme that I have created. I wish very much that you could manipulate the locations and sizes (and even forms) of the indicators (battery, signal, time, etc). I feel that the preinstalled themes waste so much space with these indicators when they are utilitarian at best.
That being said, I've attempted to design a theme around them so that they are less emphasized and that is not as graphics-graphics heavy as the ones that come with the device (or in the theme buidler).
The attached theme can really be used with any background (it was designed that way), but I've dropped in a color-matched, old Macintosh background that works pretty well.
I'd love to hear your feedback and am looking forward to the time when we have complete control over the GUI.
I'm lovin those icons, jonlevine. Can you point me in a direction to find some good icons? I'm about all Google'd out looking for usable ones that aren't cheesy!

You are better off making your own. You can do this either by finding Icon Making software, and there are several and free ones even around, or using anything like Adobe Photoshop or even Windows Paint. In these you can take a jpg or other graphical program and resize it to icon size, that is all you need.
Okay, cool. I'm gonna start making my own after this one. That way I'll have more control over what I'm trying to create. In the mean time, here's another one, and I THINK I've got the screenshot this time!
Screen shots are all i can give at the moment, the theme file is just over the limit. Email me if you would like it. .
Be sure to name which theme. (orb1) based on the round icons each has a different icon when focused on.
or the Golf4 (changes made to G4 below)
Background changed
Enterprise Activation (golf ball on & off)
Email (on & off) changes icon
Messenger (on & off) rotated
Phone (on & off) rotates w/different color
Phone Book (on & off) went back to 8700 version
Internet Browser (on & off) changes color
Memo Pad (on & off) went back to 8700 version
Help (on & off) light bulb
Pictures (on & off) new rotates
Profiles (on & off) changes colors
Options (on & off) changes color
Hell of a job om the orb1 icons man, I like them a lot. Good effort.
I have loaded all 4 of these 8700 themes (plus the original themes created by srl7741). Honestly, I can't get into the game themes to much, they are just too confusing for me (haha). But the golf and the lake theme look great on the 8700. I'm a big fan of both at this point. I wouldn't mind a little flashier messages icon (something that moves more), but that is pretty trivial and other than that, I have swapped between both a dozen times trying to figure out which I like better.
I'm also a fan of the clear_shadow posted above. That has a very crisp look to it.
Very nice job to all who are producing these themes. I am artistically incompetent, so thank you.
Those are some great 8700 themes. Thanks for sharing!! I really like the orb theme above for the 7100 series. If anyone can make that for the 8700 and post it that would be great!!

I loaded all the 8700 themes from this thread onto my 8700r. Unfortunately the only one that showed up when I went to Options/Theme was the the Clear Shadow theme.
I did a reset on the BlackBerry and still got the same result. However when I went into Options/Advanced Options/Applications all the themes were listed there.
I had to erase all of them except for the Clear Shadow one as it's the only one that worked (works great w/ all my wallpaper though I was very impressed)
Hopefully later on I'll get some more themes that work with the 8700r. So far besides the default ones and the 3 new ones from mobile.blackberry.com I recently added Clear Shadow and got the NHL theme from another website.
I don't know about the rest of you but I like changing the look of the layout
on my BlackBerry.
I have loaded all of the 8700 themes from srl7741 and they have all worked on my 8700c. Not sure if there is something between the "r" and the "c" to cause the load issues, but they all work fine on mine.
