Building Themes With Folders -
02-12-2006, 04:06 PM
I've got Plazmic Theme builder loaded and I'm trying to figure out how to build a theme with folders in it. I have no problems composing simple themes, but creating folders are a mystery to me. On my 4.0 OS I had the VodaPhone theme loaded which had a folder for applications. I'm now on 4.1 and I'm looking to make something similar to the VodaPhone one. If this is under the wrong topic sorry, it's my first post. Thanks!

You can't add a subfolder, you have to start with a base theme that has one. I don't know if any of the base themes for your phone hase one. The 8700 base theme doesn't.
Hope this helps.

Here are two 72xx themes that I threw together over the weekend:
1) 7287 is a port of the 8700 default icons, backgrounds and colours onto the 72xx theme profile.
http://rapidshare.de/files/13143033/7287.zip.html
1) 72MH is the theme I'm running for myself right now; fairly simple and clean with translucent homescreen icons.

ArtIcons Pro is a good software package for creating translucent icons and overlays.

That looks really good! I'd love to use that if you could make it as an 8700 theme.

I loaded Peaceful 2 onto my 7130e last night and I love it with one exception.
When I try to type a symbol the symbol chart does not fit on the screen. Any help ?
Everything else seems to be working fine.

Use a third party graphic software to alter the icons or even make icons.
Icons from any third party vendors will show as they normally do, we can't change this from within the Plasmic Software. I hope with future releases they allow us to do such things along with many others.

Would someone be interested in trying this... -
02-13-2006, 12:53 PM
I have attached an image that is the logo for the football club I play for and coach. All I have is MS Paint (which sucks). If someone would be willing to take this image and create a theme using the image as a background and simply making all the default blue coloring (like the battery and signal meters) orange or dark green that would be fantastic. Also if the icons could be transparent until they are highlighted that would be an extra plus. Much appreciated. (I would like to use this with the Insight Icon Theme Icons).

Peacefull 2 Update works. The symbols are still a bit off center to the right (eg the page1/2 you can only see about 3/4 of the number 2)
But this is a minor issue.

I have a general question. If I save a theme that someone else has created. Can I open that theme in Plazmic and play with the settings. Everyone here has posted some real good themes and as soon as I can get mine to export I want to post some. But I want people to have the ability to tweak them if they download them. Is this possible?

Yes, you can do that but proceed with caution.
There are some who may not have the best ethics and find your theme files from a google and then go on to sell them on places like handango without ever asking for your permission.
Someone had posted recently they thought they recognized some themes for sale that were posted here. I'm not saying anyone regularly visiting these forums would do that, but keeping the original thm file will protect your hard work.

I see. Thanks for that info. That sucks that people would do that just for a buck.

srl7741: Your work with themes is great. I've been trying to create a Longhorns theme since I got my 7100i. I've downloaded the programs necessary and got it to work...1/2 way. My graphics did not come through when I went to export to my phone. It said I had a java error.
If I were to send you the information I had started with, would you mind lending me some of your expertise? Thanks.
