I keep getting these messages when loading 71xx themes on my 7100v:
The following modules could not be loaded because their digital signatures were invalid.
And e.g. when trying to load the macberry theme it mentions in the same message : com_plazmic_theme_Mac.cod

WTF???

Talking Smiley in the Sky - 03-19-2006, 03:53 PM

Well while Browsing through Neatorama 0n my handheld, I found a great link to a view of a distant galaxy, that I just had to make into a theme. It's been raining like a waterfall here in the DFW area, enough to drown out my satellite link so just now able to post the pics. Check this out.

8700 only

Hope you like it.

Plugged:
a 7100 series theme by Jibi

OVERVIEW:
This is an unfinished 7100 series theme by myself. I completed the home screen icons and made the top banner transparent. Aside from that, nothing else was modified. I have included all project files, icon files, etc. for this theme, in the event someone wants to complete it, modify it for their own purposes, etc.

As mentioned, this also includes new icons for you all to use (38 total; also includes the 15% opacity versions inspired by srl7741's work on the default icons). I have included the 7100-formatted icons (60x56) as well as a base format (128x128) - the latter can be formatted, with a little extra work, to fit both the 8700 and 7200 series themes.

Default n00b question - 03-20-2006, 03:44 PM

Ok, so call me a n00b, but how do you make the icons translucent? I am working on a Mustang theme for the 72xx but want the icons to be translucent until you scroll over them. I want them to be almost invisible so as to not distract from the background image. Any help would be appreciated. Basic build will look like

You need to use a photo editting program to do so.

Open the image in Photoshop, activate the move tool (top left icon) then select any number key (1-9) it will reduce the opacity. If i am thinking of the correct photoshop version?

Be sure to save as the correct format (png) after photoshop does it's magic it often wants to save as a photoshop image file. (PSD or PDD)

hope this helps.

In Photoshop (CS and CS2, atleast), on the Layers window (bottom right, by default), you will see the Opacity percentage set to 100%. Just change it for that layer to 10-15% and save the image. Quite simple.

When I installed the Laspe theme (thanks, by the way for the great work), one of the icons stayed translucent, even when I scrolled past it. I think it was the Network Activation icon or something like that. (I don't have the BB in front of me.)

Any advice on how to fix this? Or is this possibly a bug that needs to be fixed and reposted to this thread?

Let me/us know. I really like this theme.

Hi again. I had the same problem with the Island Clear theme. One of the "clear" icons remains translucent regardless of the cursor position. Please let us know how to fix this and have a kickin' theme. Thanks!

Can you let me know which icon it is? I need to know in order to check it for sure.

MeanWhile i looked over those two and they seem fine? I replaced icons with the same icons and below is the new file post. Try these and let me know.

71xx text icon theme

This theme is different that's all i can say. The icons are text and colors are (normal) gray (focused) red. Remember 3rd party icons remain the same. This was just an idea (not saying a good one) feedback will tell the rest of the story.

Thanks for looking at this so quickly. The translucent icon I was having with both of those themes turned out to be the same one - Individual E-mail Activation.

I installed the new files, and got something interesting. The same icons are now "full", with no translucency at all.

I'm wondering if anyone else is seeing this, and/or if this is possibly "user error" as opposed to anything wrong with the theme design itself. In any event, any advice or assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Did the new files fix the issue? if not then i need to look harder.
What do you mean by "Individual E-mail Activation"?

No - The new files did not solve the problem. And in fact, they created a slightly different problem. For both of these themes, the Individual Email Activation icons are now visible with no translucency. This is the same icon in both themes. Both were translucent in the previous versions, when they should have been clear, until scrolled upon.

For me, the Individual Email Activation icon is a standard icon, and in the scrolling order, it sits after the Cingular Browser icon and before the Tasks icon.

If it matters or helps, this is an 8700C purchased by me personally at a Cingular store (not a company issue), and to date, I have only played around with ringtones and themes - no custom or third-party apps. Thanks again.

This is a combination of Jibi's 'Plugged' theme and Krad's 'Food' theme.

I took the background from the 'Food' theme and added it to the rest of the 'Plugged' theme. I also took away the transparent icons, since they're so nice i thought why not show them off, and added a highlight for the icons.

Thanks to Jibi and Krad for the themes and big thanks to srl7741 for exporting it for me since my computer doesn't like me much.

Hope you like it.

*EDIT*
The icon highlight looks 100% better on the unit, a little blurry in the picture.

Hoping for a golf theme for the 7520.
Did a few searches all to no avail.

Look through this thread and I'm sure you'll find some. Pink Panther, some flowers, and a lavender theme come to mind.
