I actually started too then ran into not being able to move the two indicators, having to resize all of the icons again, then I got discouraged.
I’ll throw something together.

I'll see what I can do. Someone else had asked that same question about another theme I made a few weeks ago, but with the holidays, I never really gave it much thought. I'll see what it would take to redesign. Shouldn't be too tough.
Thanks for the comments, I'm glad you like it.

I like the Brushed_Metal one, but can you adjust the following for me:
1) I prefer the original Cingular icons to these new one, can they be changed to that?
2) I can't get the "Applications" folder to appear as an option on the home screen
3) Anyway to change the key lock screen to have brushed metal background instrad of the pic of the road?
Many thanks.

Because the ones from other carriers were developed for the current operating systems, and the engine that drives the Plazmic software is based on the 4.1 OS. So until 4.1 OS is released for the 72XX you will only be able to play with the current available ones from other carriers. That does not mean that you cannot develop Plazmic ones for the 72XX, just that you cannot use them at this time. The good thing is this, if they went through the trouble to include the 72XX series in their software then it follows that the OS release of 4.1 for the 72XX cannot be far behind.

To answer your questions--
1) Don't have them as separate graphic files- they are in the compiled theme and I have not looked into extracting them but assume it would be nearly impossible. (anyone with that original theme file out there?)
2) Can't do that- the Plazmic software does not allow such freedom, yet.
3) I hear ya- but again, the Plazmic software does not currently allow that and it bothers me a lot.
Here is an alternative. Use this background and you'll be pretty close to what you're looking for (less the dialog boxes & menu backgrounds). Its from a previous post and I can give you a full-screen shaded metal background if that is what you want (but its at home and I can't get it now, sorry).

I have the orginal theme as I created it, and the only adjustments that could be made would be putting back the orginal icons. Other than that, the theme creator software does not give me the power to do what you are looking for.
I'll see how much time I have in the next couple of days to see if I can reconfigure the theme to use the standard icons.

7100 Brushed Metal Theme -
01-05-2006, 10:47 AM
Here is the brushed metal theme that I made ported to the 7100. I do not have a 7100 anymore, so I cannot test it. Let me know if it needs any adjustments as I find that there are slight differences in the layout between the Plazmic software and when the theme is acutally on the device.

Enjoy.

Unfortunately, the Plazmic software does not give you the option of making a list theme for the 8700 at this time. I'm hoping that they update the software soon to allow for 8700 list themes and the ability to change the indicators.

Interesting that we both created brushed metal themes. I had done one last week as a spin-off of some simple metal backgrounds I made but took some extra time to make & tweak new button icons and menu and banner backgrounds after learning the tiling method they implemented.
In the end I'm finding the Plazmic package currently too constrictive in not allowing us to re-position indicators, change *all* backgrounds (like the "Change Option" backgrounds), all dialog box indicators, text, etc. I'm sure more features will be added in time but the current package does not allow much creativity.

I noticed that after I posted my reply...I guess great minds think alike!
I agree with you 100% on the Plazmic thing. I would be happy if they would even release other templates to start with, that way there's at least a choice as to where to start. Trying to design around the in-place indicators is tough.

Do you mean the font in the Calendar application is not what you want?
If that's the question, there is no way to change it. I've also tried changing the other fonts for list titles, etc. but the 8700 ignores it and uses the default.
Let me know if that is what you are asking because maybe there is something that can be fixed if its not the Calendar.

srl7741,
I think you have been doing a fantastic job, creating these themes, especially on request, and I am sure they are greatly appreciated. I applaud you for your effort. Just one quick question, I notice that you haven't played around much with the Dialog and menu backgrounds. Is there a specific reason for this?
Thanks for your efforts.

Thankyou, The dialog and menus i have played with and have 8 complete sets of different textures/colors (light to dark). The reason i have not changed them is due to the over all look it creates and i've been afraid most (viewers) would not like the theme. So to answer your question i've tried to keep themes appealing to the mass(s). If someone requests a certain scheme i will be happy to try/make. It's also work in progress to a certain point and my time off work is coming to an end. In another week or so i will slow down due to time. Those features you asked about i have on my own themes and i'm finding after a few days i don't care for as much as the default. Those changes make a dramatic change to the overall appearance. If i had a site to post on i may take more time to customize each of those but for now i don't have the time to set up another web site.
I'm having fun and like helping those who come to these forums looking for assistance.
I hope you understand? Thanks for the kind words. These forums are a great place to go for help or better yet help others.

I understand totally, and was just amazed at your work. I have played around a little with the themes also and find the default dialog and menu a little too bland. I haven't posted my themes yet as I make theme personal, or they are made for specific persons in mind. I don't have the artistic ability nor the time to make themes on request, so haven't posted any. I think I will this time as a sample. This is one that I am in the process of developing, possible for some friends in the Field Artillery. It is not complete but here are some shots of the work in progress.
Well I was going to upload them but I keep getting a Page cannot be displayed. I guess I'll try later
Thanks again

Please take a look at these. The background is an original made in Photoshop and the only difference in the two is the tilt of the Caduceus. Otherwise, one has orange dialog box attributes and the other has the normal blue.

I have a 7130 and I'm feeling a bit left out here - all you 7100i and 8700 folks are have a blast with all these themes.
I do want to thank whsbuss for a couple of cool themes he sent me!
However, I've got a jpg I'd like to ask if someone can create a theme from for my 7130e - if someone can help me, please pm me and I'll send the jpg file to them.
Please, even pretty please!
Steve
