my old grayscale SONY Clié T415 had a "hack" script you could enter which would invert the backlight, giving "white" text on a "black" background. this ability seemed to be limited to grayscale and b&w screens only. trying the same script on a color screen device wouldn't yield the desired result, but the "inverting backlight" notice would still display, so it seemed to want to work.

perhaps an application could be developed for the 'berry, which would do the same, or perhaps recode the LCD's color palette to swap out some hues. perhaps red text on black for "night vision" or something akin to Indiglo.

This will do it, but if you want to keep using the Internet Browser, then in Options, Browser Configuration be sure to check Support Style Sheets. Otherwise Overlord displays grey text on a black background in your Browser - it's unreadable. I also know a guy at a Roger's Store that runs this theme and probably hadn't figured out the Style Sheets trick. He was only using the Wap Browser.

Is there any way to install this theme via the cable?

I am on a tight data plan, and really don't want to waste data with this.

Damn robbers wireless.

Theme builder is pretty limited in what you can do for the 7290. I wouldn't expect something along these lines anytime soon for 7200 series.
