Default How to transfer an MP3 file to my BlackBerry 8700g device? - 05-22-2006, 12:17 AM

Hi all,

I'm a newbie on BB world.

I would like to use a MP3 file I had used on my SonyEricsson old mobile on my new 8700g.

How can I transfer it to device and activate it?

Please note the pretty red search button above. A quick search would've easily found what you're looking for.

From another thread and our buddy LGreenberg:

1. Upload the mp3 file here: http://www.coolservice.dk/en/compatibilities.php
2. Go the link provided using your Blackberry's Internet Browser.
3. Enter the code you were given when you uploaded the file.
4. Download the mp3.

It doesn't get any easier than that.

We have parallel threads running here. lgreenberg's latest post is on topic:
I've also been recommending this to people lately.

Depending on who your ISP is you may be able to host the files yourself. For example, my provider Verizon allows me to create my own web site. To the site I am able to upload media files (mp3, image etc.)

You could very easily create your own site, upload the ringtones then browse to the site via your BB and download them.

To which I can again add:
Another possibility: if you have a Yahoo account (i.e. email which is free), you also get a service called Yahoo Briefcase. You can upload files there then surf to it on your Blackberry and download. That's how I transfer my MP3 and .wav ringtones.

...But it does seem that there is an echo on Blackberry Forums.
