Default New Vodafone Theme is very nice indeed - 06-01-2006, 01:23 PM

This isn't news to those of you that have been running Telstra for a while but I'm quite pleased with the new Vodafone theme. It's a nice complement to Zen. It definitely looks best with the original world map background and the overall effect is understated in an elegant way.
Things that I especially like:
- Hot keys work for applications folder when on the main screen (so, for example, Calculator is directly accesible by "U")
- New rotating cog a nice change from the hourglass
- New Tasks graphics a definite improvement
- Red highlighting on lined-gray menus looks great
- Locked screen is cool.
Lastly, with the applications folder, and my new minimalist approach to the 8700 - I've dropped the games like Circle Popper that were just wrecking my trackwheel and I'm hiding unnecessary icons, I have everything visible on the main screen - no scrolling off the bottom.
Since Vodafone Today will apparently borrow greatly from this theme, it should also look very good.

I saw the interactive display on BB.net for the 8707 and I really do like the Today theme implementation. Lets hope it becomes a standard theme for future OS releases.

Can you please post the URL for that?

In the beginning the Universe was created. This has made a lot of people very angry and is widely regarded as a bad move.

Thanks.
Hmm... the Today screen is looking rather green by comparison with the screen shots that you posted.
(EDIT: The right-side picture under the Browser section of the interactive presentation looks okay.)
