Question Plazmic Problems - 06-16-2006, 04:01 PM

I have installed the Plazmic software and everytime I try and run it I get the error "could not find a valid java virtual machine to load". What is the problem here? I also installed j2eesdk-1_4_03-windows & BlackBerry_JDE_4[1].1.0 but no luck?

Are you running the installer, or the product itself?

You need to download BlackBerry JDE v4.1 on the same path for it to run.
Plazmic software creates the design for you, JDE is the programming part. You have to have both for it to run.

The installer is written in Java, and is supposed to have enough smarts to find a Java Virtual Machine on your machine. From the looks of the error message, it can't find one. Perhaps it is because you have J2EE installed instead of J2SE. (have I used enough acronyms yet?)

You could try installing a JRE - that should satisfy the installer. But you may want to consider installing a J2SE JDK because otherwise there might be problems running Theme Builder.
