Question Today Theme ? on 8700c - 07-26-2006, 07:33 PM

Hi All,

I am having trouble changing the specific applications that come up on my screen inthe Zen/Today Theme. I see how to organize the apps. in terms of hiding and moving but how do I change the few that come up on my main screen?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Wirelessly posted (8700c: BlackBerry8700/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)

If you are trying to change Zen its the top 5. Don't think you can change them on Today.

You can't change anything on Today, if I recall correctly. One of the reasons I stopped using it.

Smile Thanks so much! - 07-26-2006, 08:46 PM

Thanks so very much, guys. It's a neat theme but it didn't seem to have the ability to customize - I think I will switch to something else too.

Post Zen Theme Details.. - 07-26-2006, 09:25 PM

The experts on this forum have addressed that much better than I could, A brief explanation from Stinsonddog of the Zen Theme is below (it's an OS upgrade that then gives you access to various themes):

"The main reason for the OS upgrade is that Cingular had a few bugs in the first 8700 OS. When you upgrade the OS you can use Zen which needs the higher OS. So you get both. A very helpful thread and details for upgrading is located here:

Hope this helps.

Red face Yes, it helps - Thank you! - 07-26-2006, 11:24 PM

The website wasn't responding and I didn't want to re-type my answer so I tried to "go back" - "kiss if death" Thanks for the feedback!! That WON'T happen again

By the way, once the messages are posted, is there a way to delete them if no one has answered them yet? I tried to get rid of two out of the three answers

You can't delete unless you are a Super Moderator. (They apparently can do anything.) All you can do is edit away the content and replace it with a profuse apology for the double post.

I am running the Zen Today theme on a 8700c (app v .309) on BIS 2.0. I accept the theme is buggy, I'm posting with the hope that someone has a workaround for two issues:

- A message is 'stuck' on the Today home screen. I've deleted it but i never goes away. Anyone?

- The additional messages icons that show one account each show negative numbers where you would normally see the new message count. The numbers continue to increase as I read more and more email.

Thanks, Enrico

I think it's either zen or today. But from the problem you're describing, I'm guessing you're using Today as I have the same problem.

This is apparently a known issue and there isn't any workaround.

Actually, I have figured out a work around shortly after the Today themes were released to the public.

All you have to do to get the message off of the home screen is open the message and mark it as unopened then go back and mark it as opened. That will get rid of the message from your homescreen.

If you have already deleted the message and it is stuck on your homescreen, then remove the battery for 30-60 seconds and re-insert it.

Hope that helps.
