Remove the battery, plug into USB, and open the Applications Loader in Desktop Manager. At the Choose Communication Port page click on the dropdown box and wait. It will connect. Then reinsert the battery and reinstall your OS.

thanks a lot, i did let it sit over night and nothing happened, so i did the second thing you said, the first time it didn't work, but the second time in the process of installing the os i selected the option to delete all of my old data and erase everything, and it worked fine.
