Default never ending hourglass problem - 07-29-2006, 12:21 AM

i followed the isntructions to intall the zen theme on my 7105t. i did everything properly and when i started the desktop manager it asked to update the core version. it did the update and when my BB rebooted the hourglass came up. this was about an hour ago, and its still going. when i pressed the power button i got a t-mobile logo in the backround while the hour glass still spins.. i've tried taking the battery out and holding the power button for 30 seconds, and when i go to turn it back on i get the same problem.

i was searching the forums for a resolve and all i found was to get the java loader and delete everything from my device. i guess that will be my next step but i want to know if there is anything else to do or try.

thanks for any help

It's reported on here that this problem sometimes resolved itself after several hours. So perhaps sleep on it. Otherwise a wipe is necessary. You don't actually need javaloader. Remove the battery, plug into USB, and open the Applications Loader in Desktop Manager. At the Choose Communication Port page click on the dropdown box and wait. It will connect. Then reinsert the battery and reinstall your OS.

thanks a lot, i did let it sit over night and nothing happened, so i did the second thing you said, the first time it didn't work, but the second time in the process of installing the os i selected the option to delete all of my old data and erase everything, and it worked fine.

Glad to hear it worked out. The interesting thing is that you had to make the choice to wipe your data and erase. That means that the OS on your Blackberry was recognised as still functional by Desktop Manager. (Otherwise the wipe would have been automatic - no choice required.) But if the hour glass wouldn't stop, you had no alternative but to do what you did.

Did you install the ZEN theme OTA or using the DM? Installing it OTA is much easier. I did it on my 7105t and had not issues.

I am new with this once you plug it in will it be automatic on the wipe or do I have to iniciate the sequence?
