Default (now running on my 8700) Sprint (United States) - 4.1.0.493/4.1.0.359 - 10-16-2006, 02:21 PM

i am wondering if the Sprint (United States) - 4.1.0.493/4.1.0.359 OS for the 8703...will work in the 8700....i know the 8707 OS has worked as a friend of mine had it on his...and as far as i can see this 4.1.0.493 is the newist version out...anyone got any thoughts?

I don't think cross-technology OS will work. Sprint/Verizon is CDMA not GSM.

You can not load 8703 code on an 8700 or 8707 code on an 8703 or an 8700. Desktop Manager won't allow it. As whsbuss said, you can't put code from one model/technology onto another.

They did not say that you could not put the 8707 on an 8700 model. It was stated that you could not put the 8707/8700 OS on a 8703 or vice versa. You can't mix and match code from a GSM device to a CDMA device.

well NJBlackBerry did say "You can not load 8703 code on an 8700 or 8707 code on an 8703 or an 8700"...but we did! as burto said he had the 8707 running on his 8700r and last night i installed 8703 OS on my 8700r and its working very well...faster then the last OS i was running...which was the newist untill now...so yes i can be done!
