Default Help! mp3/ringtone question - 10-30-2006, 01:02 AM

Hello all, I am very new to the Blackberry Technology and I just recently picked up a 8703e. The ringtones that came w/ the phone is terrible and so I would like to import one of my mp3 files from my computer to the blackberry and have it be set as my ring tone. Is this possible? If so what procedures do I need to take in order to make it happen? Your help is appreciated. Thanks

Eric

you create a webpage (i used geocities), you upload the mp3 ringtones to the website, then you use the phone's browser to view the page. click on the linked mp3's and save...

I have uploaded my mp3 to a website. However, when I go to my website using the blackberry's web browser, I don't know how I can save the music onto the blackberry. As a scroll over to the hyperlink for my mp3, I don't have an option to save? Is this correct? or am I missing something?

Ok so here's my status...I get an error message when I try to download my mp3 off of the website I uploaded my mp3 to. The error mesage is ''Please use an FTP client to download files more than 2 MB in size" Now I'm not a computer expert but what does this error message mean and how can I fix it to allow the mp3 to be downloaded?

Try to log onto tuneusin online. They offer free ringtone downloads, free voice downloads, and wallpapers. I'm a new user of an 8700g through TMO and was able to download these through the BB browser. Hopefully I won't get charged as well! Too scared to see my bill! Try it out and let me know if it works.
