Hey Dawg. Not sure if you noticed or not, but this area is called the 7100 Series discussion....

... that's a BIG hint.

I just bought some new bandwidth so my site should be coming back up within 24 hours. I apologize for the delay as I have been on vacation. I am buying a new domain name too so you don't always have to type that long free one in everytime.

Unhappy Help with ringtones in ZIP format - 05-03-2005, 02:13 PM

Hi everyone...

Thanks for all the great info.

I have a problem getting ringtones onto my 7100g and was hoping you guys could help me out here.

My blackberry is connected to my company and they have changed the browser to go through their firewall and proxy, which of course blocks downloading of adp files.

After days of trying to get around it, I realized that I could zip the apd files and email myself the zip file. All this works great. The problem however is that after I open the zip file on my device and choose a .adp file, and choose retreive, I get the following message..."Unrecognized Document Format"

I am having the same problem with .jpg files in a zip file.

Can you tell me how to get around this?

Thanks

Sorry pal, there is no way to email yourself the .adp files. The only way that you can download them to your blackberry is either through the blackberry browser, or the browser provided by your BES.

edit - And add my site to that 1st post please! I didn't go and buy more bandwidth for nothing. http://luckyluciano.completelyfreehosting.com/ringtones

Wirelessly posted (Blackberry 7100g: BlackBerry7100/4.0.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1)

I can't save ringtones on my 7100g, when other peolple can just choose the option "save" from the menu, I can only save the page to my message folder. Is this option somehow disabled on my phone? I'm running OS 4.0.0.198. I saw that other people have had this problem, but no answers were offered. I would love to download ringtones to my phone.

If someone has to the time, can you create a shorter version of the CTU Phone Ring from 24? Maybe a 1 and/or 2 ring version. The one I found rings 3 times. If possible, could someone shorten it to 1 or 2 rings with about 1 - 1.5 sec of silence at the end? The reason I ask for a shortened version is so that it will ring long enough to allow the 3 beeps/escalating ring options to completely cycle thru before voicemail picks up. Thanks.

Default Simple upload of your personal tones for download on your BB - 05-05-2005, 12:29 PM

I have been using this site to upload my personal ringtones that I have created using the instructions and utilities in the other ringtone sticky. Please search for it if you don't know what I am talking about.

http://inevitabletruth.org/blackberry/ringtones/

It is simple, clean and quick loading because there is no fluff. You can upload from your PC and then download from your BB to get your personal ringtones on your BB with little trouble.

Thanks for the tip. They have the shorter CTU ringer I was looking for also.

Hmm. For the 400,001st time (a new record), no. There is no way to load ringtones from your PC to your 7100.

NJ, that only encourages the record-seekers. Come to think of it, could you let me know when the total nears 499,999? I wouldn't mind being the one to nail the half-million mark... [Ducking!] All proceeds would go to charity!

Lucky,

I registered twice now, and then each time it needs an activation code, but I don't see it. It's not showing up in my email. How do I get the activation code?

Thanks,
Kevin

You can email them to yourself as an attachment. Then, open the email, and click on the trackwheel. You will have an option to Open Attachment. When it arrives, click the trackwheel and select Save. The picture will be saved in the Pictures folder.
