Are there any sites which allow you to download a single ringtone legally?

Probably a common problem alot of people have: When I am in the audio player, and I click on the options button, the menu comes up but does not give me an option to "Save" however there is an option to "Save Page" which i have done, and saves it to my messages folder... anyone have any idea what is going on? I can listen to the file itself....

You are right, forgive my ignorance....

i think i have helped... several times in this same thread...

Let me try and make it clearer.

You are in a section called 7100 discussion thread...

You have a 7520.

... no, no... that was too subtle.

Ok, lets try this... if the first two number of your blackberry are not "71" (seventy-one), then voice ringtones will not work.

... that means... 7520, 7230, 7290, 6510..... will not play voice ringtones.

ah forget it, i'm sure none of this is useful.... i'll just STFU.

Question saving a ringtone to a designated caller - 07-03-2005, 10:40 PM

Hello, Im new here. Ive had my 7100t for about 2 months. So far, I have not figured out a way to save a specific ringtone to a specific caller. Is that possible to do here? Tech support and the blackberry support group for my service provide have no clue. They constantly tell me things the handset is unable to to do. Then I figure out how to do it. If anyone can help me, please do. If this question has been beat to death already, sorry, my bad.

I've read and read and i can't see an answer to my question so i guess i'll just go ahead and post it and see what happens.

I, unlike the ignorant asshole a couple of posts above, do have a 7100t. i've gone to lucky's site, uploaded a few of the files i've made into ADP format using the mobile phone tools. However, this goes for a few other ring tones besides the ones i uploaded, i always get a 406 browser error. So, im wondering if there was a specific setting im missing or something.

i hope someone is able to help, if not it's cool. Thanks guys.
-Jonathan

Default Whats the trick then - 07-04-2005, 03:44 PM

Well, i take an MP3 i want, edit it and save it as a PCM wav file in window recorder. take it to the mobile phone media center and convert it to ADP format. am i doing something wrong? is there more details than what im doing? or should i be trying to use a couple different programs?

Okay, i found it out. Its not my ADP files.
i went to http://www.idencustom.com/rings/rings/ and check out the website. if you hit parent dir. it takes you to a place you can click on a file called upload.php. from there i was able to upload any adp file i had made. so from there i tested it out.
*drum roll* bbbdda bddaa
and it works! i don't think lucky's site does. so at anyrate. this is cool. Now we just need to figure out a way to have RIM or who ever make it possible to assign callers with different ring tones or even groups. it's kind of dumb that we can't. ithought this was a multifunction phone :P

Default 7290 ringtones and 406 error - 07-21-2005, 10:15 AM

OK. Please don't shoot te poster (me) on this one....I've worked on this for about 3 hours now and am stumped.

Details:

Blackberry 7290 w/BES 4 browser
I go to Lucky's site with adp ringtone files
Find a file I want (Elton John - Rocketman for example)
Higlight the name of the item and click Get Link and receive the following
"HTTP Error 406 Not Acceptable - The page you are trying to load is not supported by the browser. Please try loading a different page"

In details I see "200: Application can not accept the content[audio/adpcm]"

What am I doing wrong here and how can I load ringtones into the device? Is there a better site to try? I have used IE to download a bunch of the adp files but cannot figure out how to save them from the email I sent to the BB, there is no save attachment option.

Thank you very much,

George
