I'm looking for alert tones for the 7100g. I really like the different alert tones on the Motorola V710 but I can't get them copied from my friend's phone.

Anyone know a good place to find alert/notification tones for the BBs?

Default Newbie Needs Help - 08-14-2005, 08:24 PM

To anyone inclined to educate a newbie-

I recently got a BB 7520 from Nextel. I, like everyone else in the world, want to be able to convert some of my own media files to be ringtones and wallpapers. So here are the questions:

1. How do I convert MP3 files into ringtone for the 7520?

2. How do I get the converted files onto the Blackberry?

3. Same this about image files for wallpaper.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

The 7500 and the 7100 are drastically different in this regard, and this is the 7100 subforum. The other general BB forums should lend some info, but let me take a stab at it.

1) AFAIK the only format the other BB's will play is midi. You would need ot convert mp3's to midi format, although i dont know that this is entirely possible. You would have better luck searching the web for midi ringtones that are already available.

2) Then save the midi file to your machine and then upload it to a webhost. Send the link to the midi file on a host to your device either using AIM or an email. Download and save.

3) From what i remember image files are not easy to get to the 75's. If your device supports web browsing with images, then you should be able to resize an image and up load it to a host. Go to that image in your browser and save it. I think some carriers allow email with images to be saved, I know I could not on my 7700 with AT&T. Best test would be to enter http://blackberryforums.com/vb3bluesaint/misc/logo.gif into your BB browser and see if it loads the logo here. If it does and you are able to save the image to your device, then resize a pic of your choice, upload to imageshack or tinypic and then download it and save it.

I haven't been able to find 3 specific ring tones:

Fox NFL Theme
Fox Ticker Update Sound (this would be great for alerts)
Syracuse University Fight Song

I have the Monday Night Football theme and yes I am pumped about football season and this time of year.

Dawg - (don't rag me on SU football because you know we rock in basketball).

SUFan,

Could you please tell me where you got the MNF theme from? I used to have it for my Motorola phone but have not been able to locate it for my 7100t. Thanks in advance.

If you want your site added to this list, post below and I will add it on.

OK, let me vent here for a second. I have seen tons of posts on here about rings tones and everyone is pointing to this sticky post that is just about worthless, why is this a sticky? I have yet to seen a good clean list of ring tone sites for all the blackberrys.

http://www.adamdaley.com/wap <-- This site maybe has 100 ring tones with mostly rap. To me useless.

http://www.blackberrytunes.com <-- this site is owned and operated by handango, they want you to pay 20 dollars on something you can't see. They claim you have unlimted downloads, but to what? I don't spend cash on something I can't see, nor do I download a trial on something I can't see details on. ( basicly a bait site )

Be wary! Spyware Site!!!http://www.polyphonicringtonez.com/wap/index.php <-- useless why post it.

WAP Site - http://www.phonemodz.com/chris5h/bb.wml <-- a domain forward site for advertisment hits, no ring tones what so ever so why are you promoting it??

If you look through out the thread, there are plenty of "upload" sites available. Have you tried browsing through those? These sites are used for people to upload their custom ringtones, and then download them via wap.

http://inevitabletruth.org/blackberr...ones/oldstuff/

&
http://inevitabletruth.org/blackberry/ringtones/adp/
http://inevitabletruth.org/blackberry/ringtones/mid/

are all things uploaded from

Feel free to browse through.

As far as I know the only way to upload them is to do them from the website into the blackberry.

I don't think they can be done via a cable.

The previous posts address this. Why not just do it from web to your device through the browser?

Ok. I got the 400 error and everything else everyone listed above.

I have a (ducking) Blackberry 7520. Finally figured out (from one of the post's above) that I can only accept MID files.

Used the "nextel" browser which has a save function. The phone figured out that it needed to save a mid file to some mid directory.

Went to one of the above listed sights that had a midi file. it downloaded, it works.

thanx

Lucky....I have downloaded some of the ADP's from your site. I can hear them from your site, and save them to my 7100t. The problem is that I can't use them in my profiles, I assign them and they won't play as a ringer. Is there a certain setting that I should have? I am not sure what I did wrong because they played from the browser.....can anyone help?

I'm looking for a lower frequency ringtone for a user who is hard of hearing - can use the BB 7290 (T-Mobile) just fine as a phone, but can not hear the phone ring. Suggested using the vibrate feature, but since her BlackBerry is usually in her purse and not worn on a belt, vibration mostly goes unnoticed. Called T-Mobile for support and they said to look at their website. Sent e-mail to website contact and auto-reply stated 5 days for a response. Has anyone run into this before? Thanks!

Why a lower frequency ringtone? Is the hearing loss mostly in the higher frequencies?

Here's a lower frequency ringtone the user might try: http://davidenglish.com/wml/upptaget.mid.

I paid for this and it works great. You send them an MP3 file, they convert and then they send you a link to your song. All subsequent files go here as well so you can retrieve your new and old songs. Works great. I've converted 4 songs so far and the quality is excellent. Maybe there is a cheaper way out there to do it, but the $20 to me was a small price to pay to get something that works great.

Default Cannot Save after 2 downloads - 10-24-2005, 10:54 AM

I am a tmobile customer/dealer and I own a 7100t with Tmobile. I went ot the AdamDaley.com site and was able to download 2 voicetones. After that i was not able to download anymore. Not really sure why but the option to save is no longer in the menu(in Audio Player), I can only save the page. I tried using the direct link and it came up with an error. Anybody have any thoughts on this and why i cannot download anymore?

Can any of you guys tell me how you create the .ADP files?

I have some access to audio programs where I could cut down songs and stuff, but i'd like to make my own ringtones and for the community when needed, but not sure how to create those .adp files for the blackberry.

So far I'm lovin adam daley's site - so thanks for that!

any info would be sweet! Thx
