Question Problem with ringtones - 10-26-2005, 11:28 AM

Hi,

I went to both sites and when asked by my computer which application I wanted to use to open the ringtone I picked Microsoft Media Player. Well, I guess that was the wron gchoice because it would not play and now every time I click on one of the ringtones for either one of the sites it automatically chooses Microsoft Media player with an error. How do I get it to stop doing this and which application should I choose to listen to the ringtones (RealPlayer, or something else)?

Thanks

Both offer free ringtones.

www.blackberrytunes.com is more of a service that allows you to turn the MP3 of your choice into a ringtone.... therefore no MP3 ringtone is off limits....

You need to change the program associated with the file type you are working with. To do this, go to the folder where you stored the particular file (or any folder for that matter) and click tools, folder options and file type (assuming you are running windows XP-it could be slightly different for other windows versions.) Find the file type you are working with and assign it a different application. As for which one....I couldn't tell you. Try some media players you already have intalled and find one that works. If they don't work you may have to download one. I don't get much into ringtones...it's too hard on BB's and not worth the time. When they make it simple....maybe I'll join in the fun.

Never mind, I just found out that the 7100i does NOT support .ADP ringtones. Figures!

Default Anyone downloaded a ringtone from T-Mobile? - 11-16-2005, 09:36 AM

I tried to download one last night (to my 7100t), and it said it would be sent to my phone. Never saw anything come in. I didn't see any emails, and no new tones showed up in my available list. Am I missing something?

Thanks.

When I go to http://inevitabletruth.org/blackberry/ringtones/mid/ and download the .mid to my computer and then try to add via the application loader, it won't recognize the .mid. How do I get them over to my 7100i from my computer?

Lucky Luciano

Thank you for the effort you put in to get these ringtones out. I got a 7100t and was bummed when I thought I couldn't have mp3 ringtones. After a little searching I found your site. Its even formatted nicely to use easily from the blackberry browser.

thanks

I am unable to access or download .adp files with my 7130. I get an http 406 error. The documention that I have for the 7130, while sparse, says the device can playback midi or mp3 ringtones.

I just received my new 7130e from Verizon, midies are awful so it looks like mp3s. What is the best way to transfer them to the phone... any good free websites like Lucky's to download ready formatted MP3s? (which I used with my 7100t and was great)

I just got a new 7100i and the only way I was able to download ringtones was by going to http://inevitabletruth.org/blackberry/ringtones/mid/

I clicked on the ringtone I wanted. For example: http://inevitabletruth.org/blackberr...t-backdown.mid

Then emailed the link to my phone. Then I clicked on the link on my phone and opened. The ringtone should play automatically. There will be a Play, Stop, and a third button. Select the third button and click on Save. It should save to your Tunes.

Then go to your Profile and select it as your ringtone.

Hope this helps.

And, since no one wants to help (meaning i've asked a few questions, and no ones even answered or noticed i've asked a question), the site will go offline to the public at midnight tonight.

12/15/2005 11:59pm pst.

Get em before then!

I truly find it sad, that everyone will surely download, but when asked for feedback, its silent.

TheRinger, I just went to your site to check on some tunes, with a few of my students looking over my shoulder. Big mistake. While I understand your frustration (and I wish I could have found this thread early enough to help appease some of it), I've found myself in some mildly hot water for letting students see inappropriate content. I hid the screen as quickly as I could, but not before the damage had been done.

Sorry it didn't work out for you, but posting a graphic like that was a bit out of line. So it was dumb of me to visit a site I hadn't been to before with minors present, sure. But given the reputable nature of the information I find on this site, I expected better.

I am unable to load the pages you listed in the browser on my 7100i. Is there any software out there that can upload ringtones to the Blackberry via USB?
