Bfrye, if i could make a suggestion. How about just seperating the ringtones out of the charm discussion thread altogether, you know? Another category on the main board maybe... The way it stands now, it seems like all there is to talk about in the General Charm section is ringtones....
Just a suggestion.

I haven't looked much into that thread, but most of the ringtones seemed to be from the sites above. Are they linked on the actual site?

Sorry, probably wasn't clear. I meant, instead of having it set up where ringtones are discussed under the General Charm discussion thread, perhaps move it down somewhere on the main forum.. you know? Like ringtones/wallpaper/games section. That way when you enter general charm section, its more about the form factor, typing structure and such.
Hope i was more clear.

If we see an influx of ringtone questions in the general forum I might. For now, those questions have pretty much been limited to the charm forum. We don't want the general forum clogged up with too many stickies as well.

bfrye, i think he was meaning to have its own sub-forum. i think we have enough forums as it is, and since these ringtones only apply to the 7100 series, there's no real point in having its own forum. heck, from what some of them have shown, people will post everywhere but there...

404 Page not found -
04-01-2005, 06:07 AM
I can browse http://www.adamdaley.com/wap
to the .adp files, but when I want to download (e.g. when I click on uGotMail), I get a 404 page not found, and the ringtone player is not started.
Am I doing something wrong?

I guess I'm not making myself clear. When I click on the menu icon to save the file, it saves it into my messages folder. That is the only save option and I can't get them from the messages folder to my ringtone list.

ADP RINGTONES:
If you don't want to bother emailing your ringtones, I have a pretty nice collection here, and you can upload your own directly from the site. Registration is free, and I only require registration for people uploading files. Check it out
http://luckyluciano.completelyfreehosting.com/ringtones
Also if you browse to the page above from your blackberry, it takes you to a more friendly blackberry page without the extra columns and tables for quicker and easier navigation.

Did you try refreshing the page. I changed the layout since the 1st time i posted it. Now there are menus. You are the 2nd person though to mention that. But it works fine on my BB and others. What BB are you using and are you going in through category menus... or do you just see a list of files when you go there

Luck, when i try to access your site it just comes up with a blank page on my blackberry. If i go to http://luckyluciano.completelyfreehosting.com I bring up your main page and i can scroll down to the ringtones link, but when i click on it it just brings up a blank page again. i would love to use your site since uploading seems so easy. Any help on what seems to be the problem

If you've changed your browser options to make it look like you are using IE, or the non blackberry browser, sometimes the forwarding will not work. Goto "http://luckyluciano.completelyfreehosting.com/ringtones/download.php" on your blackberry and you should be good to go.

he's talking about this site, which has adware not a virus:
http://www.polyphonicringtonez.com/wap/index.php
if you go to it in IE, there is a pop-up (assuming you allow pop-ups). the pop-up then has an ActiveX installation for 'eXact Advertising'. with XP SP2, there are no worries for either the pop-up or the ActiveX installation.
anyhow, to be safe for those not running XP SP2 or some sort of pop-up and/or adware blocking software, i'd say it best to remove the link from the list. just my opinion.

I had to manually type www.adamdaley.com/wap/voice/Got%20Mail.adp from BlackBerry browser, then it worked. Not sure why, though!

After downloading, have you completely exited from the profiles section? I mean clicking the wheel and hitting close (not just hitting the hang up button to go to the desktop)? Downloaded ringtones will only appear after exiting from and then reentering Profiles.

i *have* noticed that, even though they play reeeeely loud when you check them out in the browser, they're generally not quite so obnoxiously loud when you actually use them as ringers... but no, there's no way to adjust the volume of playback in the browser (that i'm aware of)

See some people have problems, but i have no problems what so ever accessing the ringtones from my blackberry.
I wonder if its how each carrier handles spaces in the filenames... i'll try renaming them with %20 as spaces and see if that helps.

How do I download ringtones from the www.blackberrytunes.com website? When I select the "order ringtones" link, I am sent to the Handango website to purchase a package of ringtones and wallpapers for $19.99. Does Blackberrytunes offer any free ringtones/wallpapers? If so, how do I access them on my BlackBerry 7100g?
