Default Uploading ringtones to my 7100i - 01-16-2007, 11:07 PM

This is all new to me so please be patient. I have honestly done web searches on the subject but it only has led to more confusion. I am able to upload midi files successfully to my phone, but no others. I read in this forum about other supported files such as wav, but i get an error code when attempting to do so. I have looked for converter programs as well. I want to load several wav files i have including a fire engine. Can someone help me please. I do not understand all of the sampling rate jargon, etc.

Is there any way to convert a wav file of a siren or fire engine to a midi file that will play on my 7100i?

When I do I get HTTP Error 406: Not Acceptable

It says it is not supported by the browser.

I have Version 4.1 loaded installed on the phone and that is what it came with. I bought the phone on eBay.

Life would be simple if I could just upload the wav file as this is what most of my saved files are.

Thank you for any assistance.

I have 7100i running 4.1.0.376. and you can play wav files. There are certain guidelines you have to conform to with the wav file. it must be PCM 11kHz, 8 Bit, Mono and the total file size cannot be larger than 450kb.

Made mine with the windows sound recorder and I think I uploaded mine with a wallpaper uploader from blackberry cool.

Works for me.

Props to the gent that posted that for me could not find your post to link to.
