Default Pearl Themes - discussion - 01-21-2007, 08:07 AM

Would people be interested in a thread discussing various themes?

We could talk about the inovative things that people have found for various themes. What works and what doesn't?

For e.g., one of the forum members had posted that using the BB Dimension Today, one could change the Loud-Vibrate-Quiet-Normal- etc phone profile by scrolling to the top left corner to the speaker icon. This is a very useful thing for people changing the profile often. You don't have to goto the applications icon list and search for the profile icon.

There is an entire section dedicated to Ringtones, Themes, and Wallpapers. Thousands of threads.

BBF MOd, can't we have sticky in this section of themes just for Pearl?

I see so many threads on Themes and the modifications to the original themes that it is difficult to find info specific to Pearl. Moreover it seems Perl themes are unhackable. So little things of improvement that members find for these themes would be of great value.

I agree. This should stay in the 8100 forum because all the discussions about themes in the other forum don't apply to the 8100.

I'd like a theme that looks similar to the Vodafone or Today Plus but allows you to put applications in different folders. I hate a cluttered desktop and using folders would allow a cleaner look and feel.

My wife is looking for a pink theme for her Pearl. I have found that most of the stuff available for BB's is more aimed at men. I am kind of surprised at this.

My wife would disagree with you.
There are very few themes available for the Pearl at all. For males or females.

What I meant to say is that even the wallpapers she has found are just more oriented towards males. She needs flowers, and pink stuff, and girlie stuff, you know, not X-Men or carbon fiber wallpapers. As for the themes being available, I agree with your wife.

I don't like girly stuffs on my phone. Currently I have the Phantom Theme on my Pearl and Overlord Theme on my 8700g

That is one thing that I like about the SE phones. You can create your own themes, and make them pretty much just how you want them. I am working on a sweet Puma theme for my W810i right now.

There is a pink theme on the BB help website. It's even called "Pink".

As for the other themes being aimed at men, I wouldn't say that, except maybe Phantom.

After coming from a RAZR, I find the lack of themes/skins for the BB 8100 to be a big disappointment.

The lack of themes for the Pearl is my only real disappointment. Another minor gripe is the limited calendar. I'm hoping since the phone is relatively new, themes will arrive sooner or later.

The calendar issue is probably here to stay. And PocketDay is NOT the answer.

Hmm, I didn't know that, nor did my wife. She thanks you for the good looking out. Like you, my wife and I upgraded from our RAZR's, and the lack of themes for the 8100 is very disappointing. I don't have a problem, as I have a program to create my own themes for my SE W810i. I had a lot of skins on my RAZR, and I hacked and modded my wife's RAZR to her liking. We have found that the 8100 is customizable to an extent, but not so much in the visual department. That is ok, she has her flower wallpaper, so she is happy. Of course, a pink theme would make her day. Now she will be happy.

Heavy - my wife has the same complaint! The theme options for the 8100 is limited. I have done a TON of wallpaper all over the forum. While the themes are limited wallpaper is endless. Here are some pink wallpaper (not sure if this was what you were going for so I took a literal interpretation of pink. If I'm off base my apologies)

They just released the Plazmic CDK for 4.2. So, hopefully we will start seeing a bunch of new pearl themes.

I agree with the limited number of "girly" walpapers and themes available.

I tried that "pink" theme, but didn't like it. I prefer the Zen theme although I wish there was better colors. One day I'll learn to modify the theme more to my liking.

Until then here are some of my favorite wallpapers.
